”Wonderful stay - beautiful and very comfortable”

”The rooms are a bit dated, as are the buildings but best place to stay to visit Cradle Mountain with kids. Loved it all! We saw platypus and wombats right outside our room. The restaurant was fabulous and all the staff were very helpful.”

”Basic things that were neglected or done poorly 1) no pre check in email was received resulting in us being stuck outside the property as we were not informed of the access code to gain entry into the property. Imagine being caught in a situation when you had 4 cars backed up behind you and you couldn’t get in - enough said 2) no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows can’t be open. Rooms are hot, stuffy and poorly ventilated- would have been helpful to have that piece on information on...

”We booked one night in the lodge. The instructions for check in were easy to follow and our room and the communal areas (kitchen and bathrooms) were very clean and presentable. The lodge is right right next to the restaurant and Altho we did not eat there, the food smelt delicious.”

”Rathmore was everything we had hoped for a tranquil weekend escape. We stayed in the Shearer’s Quarters, separate from the main homestead and very private, with delicious meals delivered by Cally - the lamb ragu was a favourite, highly recommended. Both hosts, Richard and Cally, encouraged us to wander the historic property, which felt a little like stepping back in time to a more peaceful era. We even saw one of the dam’s resident platypus!
