The staff is nice enough, but the property being open to the public, no hotel grade doors on the rooms (they were closet doors with no deadbolt), and no AC on a hot night is not acceptable. If you like camping, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you are getting what you're paying for. Given all the positive reviews, I was surprised when we checked in at how bad it was. The staff seemed to do what they could, and the room appeared clean, but given...

”My room had baby cockroaches crawling around in the table I was working at under the TV. I loved the room because it was spacious and clean, other than those baby cockroaches. But the A/C was a little loud. I think it was on auto and so it would turn off and on and every time it would turn back on it kind of made a loud noise which woke me up a few times.”

”The start of the stay started off well with Sarge, the property manager, and all, with him cooking for us and welcoming us in. The rules were very strict in having no outter footwear inside the house. The property was nice with a stray cat, named White Knight, being around the property to be there during your stay. ”This was amazing! Great staff, great location AND there's even a swimming hole (5 min walk, if that) with a waterfall! I've never stayed in a shared house before, but this one has spoiled me! It's close enough to be able to drive to all the good tourist spots. Oh, and hopefully you're there for the "big" farmers market on Saturdays. If I get back to the Big Island I'll be coming back here! Thank you for the great time!”

”We enjoyed staying here. As a big cat lover I was pleased of the friendly cats they had. The only negative side was the noise which started between 7-8am on mornings. We stayed in unit number 1 so I think that the staff started their day in the room next to ours. Also a sponge for dishes in the room would be nice to have - now we had to borrow it from the kitchen. ”
