Our family of 4 stayed for 4 nights in December. There were many great parts of our stay in this villa. Hans was a great and attentive host who lives next door and checked in frequently. We always felt very safe and secure in the villa, which was quite clean. For future guests, we’d like to offer some clarifications based on our experience:1) Bedroom temperature: This was the biggest challenge for us. For our family and at this time of the year, the heat was too much. We all struggled to sleep without air conditioning, and the fans in the bedrooms did not provide much air movement, partly due to the mosquito nets (which are important). The temperature in the bedrooms at night was at least 30 degrees C.2) Beach: The beach is about a 10 minute walk first along a road and then down a public access path. There are no beach towels available, which surprised us, but did not turn out to be much of an issue. The listing indicates “Beach chairs” which are actually pool chairs.3) Pool: The pool is fabulous. It is shared with a second villa, which was empty for 3 of our 4 nights.4) Living area: The villa has two separate indoor spaces: the kitchen and then the two bedrooms connected by a bathroom. The dining table and living area are outdoors.5) Washing machine: The VRBO listing includes a washing machine, which was one of the reasons that we booked this villa. There was no washing machine, but there was the option of paying for laundry to be done at KSh 1000 per load.
