First of all… part of the problem was on me. I inadvertently checked “one traveler” when I made my reservation when my wife would be traveling with me. Ok, I guess I expected that might cost me something but initially they asked me to pay more than 100% of the room charge to add her onto the reservation. Really? I complained and they took 20% off the initial ask. This was for one night on the property, knowing it was going to be chilly and windy. So almost $500 for a bed, a dinner and a minimal breakfast for her. They wouldn’t budge on this and a really had no choice. Once on the property we were hungry. The only option was the “sports bar” which had an essentially empty buffet/hot bar.
We finally made it to dinner…server was nice but food was really pretty BAD!!
In the room, the main lights had to be on for the bathroom lights to work. Restful, right??
Breakfast buffet not much better. Nice servers but lousy food. The fruit? Barely edible.
When I tried to complain about the charge for my wife on checkout, all the clerk could tell me was that I had an outstanding $4.00 charge for room tax.
This is a beautiful property with potential and nice staff, and I get that there was a major storm here a few months ago, but your hard earned $ would be better spent elsewhere.
