Hike through the Parco del Monte Cucco and explore the Grotta di Monte Cucco. Cycle along the Tiber Valley to Umbertide or Città di Castello, or canoe across Lago di Pietrafitta or Lago Trasimeno. You can also visit the medieval town of Gubbio and take the Funivia Colle Eletto open cable car to Monte Ingino. A day trip to the Rocca Paolina fortress in Perugia is well worthwhile for culture vultures.
