The pretty little market town of Morpeth is only a few miles, here you will find plenty of pubs, restaurants, bespoke shops and riverside boats. Alnwick the ducal town with the popular castle is only a few miles North where some scenes for the Harry Potter and Downton Abbey Films were shot. Nearby Northumberland Zoo is a good day out for the children and Burgham Park Golf Course is nearby. Being close to a great road network you can explore easily from here even taking a day trip to Berwick on Tweed almost on the Scottish Border where you can explore the history of the borders of England and Scotland.
