”Stayed here many times but disappointed the room (carpet) didn't look clean, bathroom, this is only room with a bath and this will be the third time I've had this room and the bath taps don't work you can only use the shower. Previously I've had water in the room but not this time. Didn't look like the tea, coffee, etc. had been topped up”

”Overall the hotel was nice with a comfortable room and’s beds and great shower! We could have used a mini fridge but there were none. The lack of AC was a challenge as we stated in July and the temp was quite hotel at night, even with the windows open. No fans available either. The staff was very nice and kindly let is check out later which was really helpful.”

”We booked about a year in advance as we wanted to be in the area for our son’s wedding the next day. We paid top price but didn’t get a top hotel! Our bath panel had been severely damaged by water and whilst the aircon cooling worked well it was like having a tractor in the room! Service in the restaurant was good however our main courses were really poor. We had a tough as old boots sirloin steak and I had the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in a restaurant. ”Excellent food in a lovely village next to a main road however when you shut the windows the traffic noise was vastly reduced. The close room was great value.”

”Excellent pod had all the amenities you could need. Very quiet, and lovely sitting out on the deck over the large pond with a glass of wine. The owner came passed and was very chatty and helpful suggesting where to fish. I think our only annoyance would be the skylight above the bed didn’t have a blackout blind so was very light at 4 in the morning, but great for seeing the stars. Would definitely go back.”

”We were put in the annex roof room which had suffered earlier water damage. While we understand that Victorian houses are not the same as today's the stairs were extremely narrow and dangerous, especially when carrying suitcases. The windows also need replacing, the double glazing was a manual effort”

”The property overall was disgustingly dirty !! It needs to be completely gutted and renovated. Nail/toe nail clippings on the sofa bed. All the material on the sofa cushions was tourn and ripped. The pull out mattress also had rips in it. Carpet was thick with animal hair , bed had long clumps of human hair on. Kettle was rusty inside. Spiders everywhere, stained bath and toilet seat. Furniture in the room was falling apart. The horrific smell of animals started at reception and carried on...
