”I can only praise and give positive feedback!! Lovely place & lovely couple who owns it and takes care of you, proposes activities, tells stories about the food, locations etc. Lovely breakfast available every morning, in adittion to the coffee available every morning, which they bring to your room. Lovely place with sloths, birds etc around the premises. Lovely location a bit out of town but close to a nice beach, a store and still only a few min drive from town.”

”This hotel is beautiful. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable. The pool was relaxing. The food and drinks were great and I enjoyed the free breakfast. I loved how close I was to the black sand beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I look forward to staying here again in the future.”

”We were looking for a relaxing end to our three weeks of very active vacationing, and La Tica y La Gata provided just that. While we were only able to book the shared bathroom rooms on hotels.com, the staff were able to upgrade us to a private room for a very small additional charge. This is a beautiful oasis right off the beaten path from busy downtown Puerto Viejo, but although it’s only a 6 minute drive from the town proper, you feel like you’re nestled in the jungle.”

”Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Zeer uitgebreid ontbijt, zeer ruime kamer. Voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Het zwembad is niet heel groot en er zijn niet veel ligbedden. De ligging is aan de rand van Puerto Viejo maar fietsverhuur en restaurants nog steeds op loopafstand.”

”Stayed at this hotel from June 27-July 4th for my honeymoon and it was easily the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Villa 3 was absolutely disgusting. Immediately upon entrance to the villa, the lock (main outdoor) completely came apart… this was frustrating but we figured it’s ok we’d go talk to reception. My wife went to then take a shower and the shower head fell.. thankfully it missed her head. I became frustrated, complained to reception and then they sent someone to come fix it. I thought ok...

”I put this off but it needs to be done. I booked this home because it was the nicest/cleanest in the area. It is a beautiful home, clean, spacious, a private pool and very comfortable accommodations. On the down side, unfortunately, there is a lot. 1st location, it is secluded not in a good way. I traveled for 3 weeks all over CR and this is the only place I felt uncomfortable and borderline unsafe. Clearly the Caribbean side is not for me. I found the surrounding areas to be much dirtier than...

”Los dueños son excelentes personas, amables, cordiales, serviciales, te dan muchísimas facilidades, tal vez ni problema fue que esperaba un hotel con más lujo y no es así. A mí consideración fue como un hostal pero con habitación privada. Las condiciones del inmueble son deterioradas. Su áreas de oportunidad están en las habitaciones, no en su atención porque su atención siempre fue gentil y resolutivo.”

”This was a girls' trip, and since we didn’t have a car, Maritza’s location was absolutely perfect! The hotel is within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shopping, making everything so convenient. The daily breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. The property is well-kept, and the rooms have been beautifully renovated. We’ll definitely be back for another Pura Vida girls trip!”

”My first booking was cancelled without any reasonable reason. I was suppose to pay there and the hotel emailed me and asked me my card details via email to make a reservation. There is absolutely no reason to send my bank details to anyone via email. If they want to have reservation fee why not to let people pay for that online? Not very trustworthy. Staff at there when we were present. The walls were so thin you could hear EVERYTHING and every car. ”
