Smoker's paradise. We are not smokers and it's listed as smoke free rooms, so we thought we were good. Outside of every room is chairs and ash trays, and the building hasn't been up kept well so the smoke easily makes its way into the rooms.
The ocean view rooms have private balconies, but we were only able to find a few minutes during our trip we could be out there and smokers weren't out on the other balconies. If you are looking to see the ocean from the ocean view rooms you need to be on the second floor, there is parking between the building and the beach so if a lifted truck parks there then the first floor would not be able to see the ocean.
Staff were very friendly in all encounters. Other guests were not, there were guests on the floor below us screaming and slamming doors until after midnight both nights we stayed, ironically the screaming was about other rooms being too loud.
The pet policy is listed incorrectly on Expedia, it shows $15/dog/night but it's actually $25/dog/night.
For being on the beach they do a good job of cleaning the sand out of the rooms, but overall upkeep is seriously lacking, with many drywall patches that didn't get sanded down let alone painted.
All in all you get what you pay for, it's significantly cheaper than other hotels on the beach and there's reason for that. And if you don't mind a little rough and a lot of smoke this is a great location with friendly staff.
