With a short 3 minute walk to the ocean's edge our little slice of heaven is sure to make you feel right at home! Are you looking for a of taste old school Nags Head? If so, you have found it here at "Cottage de A&E!" Located on the south end between Jenette's Pier and Fish Heads Bar & Grill/Pier you will find our private and quant property nestled up against the OBX preserve. Enjoy the eagles nest balcony off the master bedroom as the sun rises over the Atlantic or watch as the sun sets over the sound on our large back patio with no other properties behind you! On those rainy, relaxing days chill inside under the vaulted ceilings with an open floor plan that is sure to provide that "take it easy" feeling. Whatever your pleasure we promise "Cottage de A&E" will deliver!

We stayed 4 nights with my family, and the house is very comfortable and equipped with almost everything you need. You only need to bring toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags, since those are not provided.The location is excellent—less than a 5-minute walk to the beach, just steps away from Jeannette’s Pier.The air conditioning is controlled and adjusted by the hosts. We requested to lower the temperature, and they responded very quickly. There are also plenty of fans available in the house in case it gets warm.The house does need some repairs, but if you don’t mind it being a bit dated, it is very cozy and comfortable. It was clean, and the bathrooms were also clean.The master bedroom has a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress that is absolutely amazing—extremely comfortable. The mattress in the second-floor room is firmer but still comfortable. The rooms have plenty of pillows and blankets.They also have a Keurig coffee maker, which was a nice surprise—it’s actually the first time I’ve found a Keurig in a rental, which made the stay even more convenient.One thing I didn’t like was that the outdoor trash can was overflowing, and there was garbage scattered around it, with waste inside the bin without a bag.Overall, the price was excellent for the season. I would definitely stay there again.

My sons and I really enjoyed staying at this house. It was very comfortable and gave a home kind of feeling. The location is very convenient. We had no issues communicating with the owners and did so many times throughout our stay. The house is stocked with all the basics and more.

House is older, has a lot of potential. Furniture needs to be moved when staff comes in to clean, I had to move the recliner to get something I dropped and under it to as obvious it had not been vacuumed in some time. Washing machine tray was hideous and would not work, I had to clean it just so I could clean my clothing, Temperature was difficult to navigate as the owners were out of area and had control over it so it was too hot or too cold, This time of year is hard since we go through all seasons in one day. While I was there a pear company came and entered the home without my knowledge, only reason I knew is because he was there ready to leave when I pulled in and I asked who it was and he told us and said he was inside to just be careful around the perimeter as he just sprayed inside. A heads up on that would have been nice so I could have at least secured my things or even had arranged to stay. Garbage was an issue there were clear directions and it appeared they were not held up to by previous renter, there was a full bin outside. Due to high winds we woke up one day to that bin knocked over an spread all over the place. I had to take the time to pick it up from the grounds, which was gross. I enjoyed the area but maybe this time of year wasn’t the best plan of action.

The rental was clean but it was a bit outdated. Sheets and towels were provided. It was fine for a group of guys duck hunting for the weekend. The layout was a bit strange and would be difficult for a family. It was "guy" friendly.

Great location. Close to everything. We didn’t cook while there, but it looked like they had every pot and pan you could need. Indoor temp is controlled by owner remotely. He responds very quickly to a text request to change the temp. Simple enough. Great value, too. Can’t find these rates anywhere nearby. Hosts are friendly and respond quickly to any questions.

Great location made for close access to Oregon Inlet for fishing. Close to several restaurants for dining. Spent both evenings on the back deck. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Cottage is located just off the beach Road for easy access to everything it allows for privacy.

Communication with owner was great, however house could use some serious repair. Looks like there is water damage on the walls, wall panels are bowing. Bed was too soft for our comfort. Did not feel comfortable using grill because it is bolted to the deck and was not cleaned. Was worried about grill being so close to the house due to fire hazard.

Feels like a home. It is outdated as others have said but i actually love that. We had 5 adults and 3 children. Everyone had plenty of space. Short walk to beach. Back porch is pretty secluded. The wildlife reserve behind the home keeps it private.this was our second stay. Would stay again

This is the third year in a row that we have stayed here. Lots of space for everyone to spread out and three showers to choose from when you come in from the beach. The house is at the end of the road so it is very private. It’s a quick walk to the beach and it was never too crowded at our access point. There are piers 1 mile to the north and south. The location is close to everything but still manages to feel remote.

Awesome Location

Finding a quiet rental on Bodie Island that's still close to the restaurants and activities in Nags Head and KDH can be a real challenge, but this property threads the needle! Space is perfectly suited for a family of 3-5, and the well stocked kitchen was particularly appreciated. Back deck is nice and private feeling which is tough to manage in this area. Hope to stay here again on a future trip!
