”When I walked in to the house I felt a sense of peace and even a reverence to it. This home is nearly 200 yrs old and the renovation and upkeep is wonderful, they were able to maintain the true essence of the home while updating electrical and plumbing. We were fortunate enough to be staying in the Smith room which added to the feeling of reverence even more. I later learned that the room had been used back before the temple was completed as an ordinance room. The owners and the caretakers of...

Nauvoo

”The owner was awesome to work with. There were lots of touches to fit with the name Fairy Bowery. The artwork and decorations put the location in liminal space. The Air Conditioning was able to keep up with Nauvoo summer (in fact we had to scale it back to keep from freezing.) We were there for a family reunion, and all of the family that saw our location and accommodations was jealous. Next time we have a reunion in Nauvoo, we'll have to reserve it at least 6 months in advance to keep my...

Nauvoo

”Historic Nauvoo. What a neat little town. Everyone was extremely friendly. The property is good value for the money. If you park on the Main Street, it’s easy to find. The alleyway from the front is level concrete and well lit. We parked in back as we were instructed. It was a little confusing at first, until I reread the instructions. The concrete alleyway from the back is uneven and not as well lit. But the town is a safe one, so security is already felt. The stairs to the upper apts...

Niota

”This cabin is a 1940s cabin and that's what it is. Don't expect luxury. Dogs and kids will love it -- bunk beds, a loft bed and a not-heavily-traveled road to walk dogs. The wall of west-facing windows gives a beautiful view across the Mississippi River for stunning sunsets. There's a small beach where you can sit. But beware -- GPS has NO idea where the cabin is. After being lost twice, I went to the app to message the host and realized there were driving instructions. But those weren't sent...
