”Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not...

”My husband and I were impressed with the our short stay; the room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Sadly, the TV is not a smart TV but luckily, it was quick trip for us. A firestick might come in handy.l for future reference. We highly appreciated the complimentary breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and didnt have any issues.”

”Toilet wasn't clogged but wouldn't flush right our main door had a half inch gap in the corner of it had to put a towel in front of it to keep the bugs out air conditioner worked but looked like it was falling out of the wall . Called and asked staff for wash cloths said they were being washed went to the front desk later in the day lady wrote down the room number said they would take some up later never seen them . View of the bay was great pool was nice.”

”The building and the staff were great! Such a cute property and a really nice room. Only downside was that it was pretty loud due to traffic noise outside (and an early morning party in the parking lot next door). But the staff and amenities were really top notch, and breakfast was very tasty both days!”

”Very poor customer service. I made my reservation two weeks in advance and expected the hotel to honor my booking. On the day of check-in, my flight was delayed, so I called the hotel and spoke with the manager. I explained that I would be arriving late, and she assured me that it would not be a problem. When I finally arrived, the receptionist informed me that the hotel was sold out and that my room had been given away. I was told they had tried to contact me but could not find my phone...

”Room was clean but certainly no frills. Pretty much what I expected based on the rate. Believe I got value for my money. Would consider staying again. Location is good with many retail establishments along the road.”

”The hotel is very well located in Downtown Norfolk, making it convenient for restaurants, attractions, and exploring the area. The property could benefit from some renovations and updates. The customer service staff were friendly and courteous; however, they were unable to resolve an issue involving a supposed double check-in that appeared in their system when there was actually only one stay. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would consider staying here again for a couple of nights...

”Nice clean rooms. Pretty view of the water from the restaurant, and easy walk to the water taxi. Great breakfast buffet. Just beware of promises for adjoining rooms or specific room types next to each other. Normally we can be flexible, but this trip it mattered and wasn't fulfilled.”

”If you’re on a budget then suck it up and use them but be prepared for hardship. It smells like smoke and urine. No overnight room service for towels or etc. Breakfast is sad. Not recommended for families or children young in age. They will do their best to make things work. Pool needs to be cleaned. Otherwise housekeeping staff is fantastic!!!”

”They had smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms we went into the smoking first and it looked like they threw the box springs in mud and just put them back in the room. We went to the non-smoking room on one bed obvious dog hair all over I have pictures and the other bed had been used. If I didn't have to give any stars they would have got zero. Unless you are absolutely desperate no matter of fact sleep outside.”

”I was concerned about making a reservation due to other reviews, but we totally enjoyed our stay. It’s an older beach motel, and they are very difficult to maintain, so not everything was pristine. Salt spray is hard on buildings. However, the staff was very nice, our room and the common areas were clean, and the Chesapeake Bay is right there. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked clean and beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again.”
