”Our room had a very ugly view over the bins and kitchen extractor fans. This created a loud hum until around 10pm and also brought some cooking smells into the room. The walls are also very thin and we could hear the room next door very clearly.
However, after midnight the noise died down and it was quiet.
The hotel is in a nice, very rural location.”

”Charming pub in a very good location in Tenterden high street - excellent if visiting Chapeldown or the Kent and Sussex Railway. Our room was very spacious and the bed was super comfy. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good. and a secure car park is included with the stay.

”Staff on check in were really lovely, friendly and helpful. Carried our suitcases upstairs which was much appreciated and provided iron and ironing board within minutes.
Room 14 is a safety hazard! Tiny step in to the bathroom which is really easy to miss and I actually had a bad fall when staying. There's also a step down in to the bedroom part of the room, so be really careful if you stay in this room.
Someone had pre set an alarm on the TV to 5:45am so if you stay here, make sure to check...

”The hotel is a lovely old pub & breakfast is good. Our room was hot & thought needs to be given to improving the fans in the room. There are a couple of free, open 24 hours car parks within a 2-4 minutes walk. It's old so floors are uneven and there are a lot of half steps.”

”Spa facilities poorly maintained wood splitting in sauna, no steam room very small pool and small dirty changing facilities.
Inadequate gym facilities literally 1 treadmill
Old dirty carpet and room smelled old.
Tv was inadequate old 1st generation TV. Terrible WiFi signal
Reception staff friendly but catering staff not.
No food available after 9.30pm no amenities or facilities around to overcome this.
Would not recommend staying unless just going to specifically play golf”

”Wonderful room..
No TV, which we knew, and that was a pleasure.
Staff very polite and helpful. Nothing seemed too much for them.
The Wi-Fi will be needed, if you want the internet, as poor reception.
Excellent breakfast to top it all.
Third visit, we'll be back again, maybe next year.
:)”

”We went for the comfort room. It was tiny. Nowhere to hang or layout clothes, not even a chair to put things on.
Superficially clean but needed a proper deep clean.
Breakfast was fine (good range of cooked options) and location excellent.
Certainly not worth the amount we paid for it (over £160). We plan to return to Rye as it is such a beautiful town but we will find somewhere else to stay next time.”

”Traditional and homely accommodation, just what we were looking for as a place for our family to stay. The location was excellent. The services of the city centre were close by, but the hotel was located on a beautiful street in a quiet environment. The rooms were charming, one of which we used was particularly functional and comfortable. A very good traditional English breakfast, complemented by berries and yoghurt. I couldn't have asked for anything more for breakfast or from the hotel. I can...
