”Tthe history of the property itself was amazing. Not to mention the surrounding area. The house was near to the community but also far enough out to be very quiet and peaceful. We loved the open floor plan of the main level but if you have issues with mobility, accessing the stairs to the second floor may be an issue. ”

”Very, very nice stay - a short walk to the beach, and wonderful hosts - we forgot to empty a drawer of a few personal things and they found them and said they would mail them back to us. Very grateful for that. Full kitchen, laundry and just beautiful overall. It was a first floor level to a home rather than a separate cottage but even my teenage son said it was an awesome house to stay in. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there and wanted to stay much longer. ”

”The property was great, awesome cabin with all that we needed. Cutest general store and great playgrounds. Dog park for a pet and very convenient. Only negative is that it is directly beside a very active railroad track. After the first night you get used to it though. Very friendly, very clean!”

”A great place to stay! Technically a small house, it still felt very spacious for four people. Everything was clean and well kept. The property was beautiful and private. The location was also great; we never had to drive more than 20 minutes to get anyway. I would definitely recommend!”

”We love when VRBO hosts know how dogs can be an important part of the family! This was a very cute beach house that would suit a large family well. We enjoyed the beach access and the proximity to all that Norfolk has to offer. The host provided clear instructions for arrival and departure and the house included all that we needed for a weekend getaway. ”

”The home was perfect and was in a great spot. I enjoyed the walk to Yorktown, the history, and plus the food. If you get a chance make sure you go Farmers market on Saturday’s. Nice walk and there was some amazing things at the farmers market. ”

”It was off season for the water activities but that didn’t change the view or ability for the kids to play in the sand being right on the beach. We were able to spread out in the house as needed. Easy access to I-64”

”If you’re looking for a place for you to have a safe space with your family, young or old, with all the amenities that you would want from your own home this is it. If you’re a veteran, there’s multitude of bases nearby with commissary’s to get groceries for the week to help the budget. ”

”Stay was very enjoyable. Close proximity to the beach, but does require crossing a main road. Home was very clean. Two minor inconveniences but did not impact overall trip. One could’ve been user error. Could not get outlets to work in one of the rooms and the second was a light bulb went out in a bathroom which we swapped with another extra bulb in a different room. ”

”We had a lovely stay in Deena’s cottage. The cottage was super convenient to the car ferry, and we took many fun trips into Williamsburg and Jamestown with the kids. We enjoyed the private slice of beach right outside the cottage and kayaking with the kids in the river. Deena was incredibly communicative and knowledgeable and the check-in/out process was seamless. The cottage was well-appointed and the kitchen well-stocked and had everything we needed.
