”Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.”

”The owner came into my room and demanded that I do not play music at all on the premises. I can understand turning the music down but to not have any music I think tat was a little excessive. I asked him for where it is written I’m not allowed to play musician in that room, but I guess he didn’t have an answer for me. Highly would not recommend especially if you come from a minority or not English background.”

”The Old Post House was exactly as we had envisaged. Full of character, perfectly positioned over the harbour and very comfortable. Shelley helpfully gave us all the information we needed and left us to it. Parking would have been a challenge had we not been the only ones staying, but there was room in the village. In high season it could be an issue, given the small size of the place. A great place to stay and highly recommended.”

”Absolutely beautiful family set of rooms, stunning view of St Michael’s Mount, w causeway right outside. Unfortunately, windows covered w scaffolding and workmen starting on our 2nd day, making bathroom without curtains unusable. Reception unhelpful (blamed property company) until the last day of our complaining when they offered a small discount on our stay (but still didn’t cover window). Although we received notice a week or two before our stay that this was happening, that doesn’t really ...

”Beautiful location for this really special place to stay. We had two night here. Although we didn’t have great weather, it hardly altered as the hotel has lots of cosy places to sit and look out on the truly stunning gardens. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Thank you to whoever found my husbands watch and called us so we were not too far away to come back for it! Another highlight is the hotel’s own soap products which smell amazing and are available to buy. Sadly they had run out...

”A beautiful hotel in an incredible location, with lovely spa facilities that are worth a visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. That said, for a hotel of this calibre, we did notice a few areas where the experience fell short of expectations. Small touches — like having the tea tray refreshed without needing to ask — are the kind of details that elevate a stay, and we found ourselves having to prompt for these. ”We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and have yet to hear back from a Manager regarding the numerous complaints we had with the service experienced. To begin with, I will note the positives: Clean room Friendly staff Beautiful views Now the negatives: Upon checking into our room at 7pm (following a telephone conversation had earlier in the morning regarding our children and dog joining us) we discovered that the extra beds were not in our room ready for our children to sleep on....

”The hosts were lovely. Clean, safe, comfortable, good common area includes fridge, glasses, plates & cutlery. Delicious breakfasts with a view of the colourful boat harbour. The pub in Mousehole (5 min walk) was good. Parking is a short distance away but make sure you have cell / text service to use the parking app in case the only machine in the lot isn't working as the next lot is 2 miles away! Would stay here again!!!”

”Such a wonderful property, and the rooms are so very clean and comfortable. We slept so well, and were treated quite nicely. Kate is such a lovely host, and her brekkie is top-notch. We enjoyed chatting with her as we ate, and found her delightful and helpful. The farm setting is so peaceful (for us guest that is, a lot of hard work for owners), and the location is great for visiting the Lizard and other places around south Cornwall. Thank you much for such a great stay!”
