”We stayed here last weekend to celebrate my mum’s 65th birthday and had such a lovely time. The hotel was beautiful, very clean and comfortable, and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. I had emailed beforehand to mention that we were visiting for my mum’s special birthday, so I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a card or small acknowledgement in the room. We’d also booked a table in the restaurant for her birthday dinner, but unfortunately the booking hadn’t made it onto...

”The hotel was smart and clean, staff great. I say the beds are a tad lacking”

”Second time staying at the Ship and it was once again excellent. Really friendly staff, lovely room with comfortable bed and pillows and the breakfast is superb. Highly recommend”

”Very handy location close to where we needed to be in Chelmsford. Certainly more room that a budget hotel wih everything you need, including safe parking.”

”Decent location. Easy car parking. The good points were breakfast. And a comfy bed. The negatives were no lift, and lots of steep stairs. The shower was very complicated to operate and took ages to reach a decent temperature and the control of the temperature was very stiff. No water provided. All in all bit run down.”

”Lovely simple place, very clean with full breakfast, toast and cereals included. Nothing fancy but perfectly good. Very friendly and helpful receptionist and bar staff. Good size room with very comfy bed, bath and shower, hairdryer and blanket. But someone doesn't know how to put a sheet on a bed. Lol Quiet area - on a Tuesday night. Free parking till 8am one road away on Tyler Ride road. I would happily come again.”

”Breakfast is a bit mediocre a nd lack variety”

”Breakfast was great considering it was free. Easy access to get in. Friendly staff. No issues.”

”2nd time ive been in a year The 4th preimer Inn ive stayed in and it is definitely the best one.”

”Checked into Room one, nice view over quay but as soon as I lay on bed headboard collapsed, went to have shower and shower not working, was allowed to use bathroom down the hall but not ideal. No remote for TV so couldn’t use that either. Wanted to say good stay but very poor.”

”The hotel is undergoing a renovation at the moment, but the rooms and general areas are clean and quiet, the staff in the bar - restaurant are most accommodating, the food is cooked to order but the wait is well worth it the food produced is excellent. Defiantly recommend the food.”

”This hotel was the worst place I have stepped into in my entire life. Firstly when booking, it revealed there was parking onsite but on getting there, it was a disaster with no parking facility, driving around the areas to secure my car, terrible atmosphere from the entrance, unprofessional staff with zero skill that had no idea about the parking facility. Eventually, my husband had to book another hotel immediately to which was unplanned for our safety. I can never recommend this type of hotel...
