”We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way North and were very happy that we picked this Inn. The room was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and in line with the price point. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was nothing short of excellent with good quality ingredients, perfectly prepared.”

”Rooms and outside facilities need updating and decorating. Outside tables and patio needs regular cleaning and sweeping. But Ben and all his staff were helpful, attentive and friendly.”

”A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks.”

”Very nicely situated in a quiet village area 3miles from the town centre. Large car park at the rear and easy access to a bus service outside. Clean pub and rooms of a reasonable quality. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Well priced.”

”Check in was great, very friendly, advised about the parking situation which wasn't ideal so ended up staying in the long stay. Room was very compact and would benefit from losing the cushions. Clean and comfortable with very nice bathroom. Didn't particularly bother us but there was very loud music from the pub playing until midnight on the Saturday. Restaurant was OK, expensive for ok food. Chunky chips were very under, fed that back to staff who smiled and said would relay to the kitchen....
