Over fifty years ago, our grandfather discovered this pristine stretch of South Guiones beachfront, pitching a tent to fish and camp with friends, which sparked a family legacy of oceanfront living. Today, Casa Mabeas is a deeply cherished, multi-generational heritage retreat designed for large families, surf crews, and private wellness gatherings who want to slow down and sync with the tides. Step directly from your open-air sanctuary onto the sand, where the rhythm of the crashing waves and golden hour sunsets set the perfect pace for your stay.

The Space

The estate’s unique, segmented layout is a charming testament to its organic growth over half a century, purposefully divided to encourage both communal gathering and quiet privacy. Sleeping up to 14 guests, the sleeping quarters are split across two tiers: a lower-level room area featuring a relaxed lounge zone, and an upper-level room area.

The absolute soul of Casa Mabeas is "The Rancho", a magnificent, open-air social pavilion housing the kitchen and dining areas. This is where decades of family memories have been made. Slow mornings are spent here brewing Costa Rican coffee. As a pet-friendly compound, the open-air design offers plenty of space for your dogs to safely relax in the shade while you recount the day's best waves.

Neighborhood
Nestled directly on the quiet, uncrowded sands of South Guiones, this is authentic beachfront living in its purest form. Take a short, 5-minute barefoot walk down the beach to explore the local tide pools at low tide. When you want to experience the vibrant cafes, yoga studios, and legendary main surf break of North Guiones, it is a highly scenic 30-minute walk up the coastline or a quick 10-minute drive down the road. Important Notes:

Guest Access
•⁠ ⁠Full access to the entire home and outdoor areas. Host greets you at check-in with a quick 5–10 min orientation.

Housekeeping (included)
•⁠ ⁠Pre-arrival setup + post-departure cleaning included.
•⁠ ⁠For 7+ night stays or retreats: one mid-week light refresh (common areas, bathrooms, towel refresh, trash/recycling).

Starter Essentials
•⁠ ⁠Beach towels, basic soap/shampoo, initial toilet paper, trash bags, starter coffee & water provided.

Pets
•⁠ ⁠Welcome (up to 3). Fee: $50/pet per stay.
No pets on beds. May be left unattended only outside bedrooms, at guest's own risk.
