Pensionaatit – Nosegawa

”For a truly historic and immersive stay this Temple is perfect. Near all the most significant sites in Koyasan.”

”The property is beautiful and well maintained. Staying in Koyasan was the highlight of our trip to Japan from Canada and it didn’t disappointment! The grounds are cared for, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The location is great as everything is within walking distance but you aren’t on the main road. 10/10!”

”Staying in the temple for two nights was the most amazing part of our two great weeks in Japan. We travelled with three adults and two kids (13 and 9 years). We had a very large double room, which was mesmerizingly beautiful in its simple japanese design. Air-condition was lovely during the hot summer season, worth mentioning when traveling with kids: the doors of the room etc. are literally from paper. We felt very welcome, also the kids. Communication in english was easy. The public bath was...

”It was truly an amazing experience. At first please note that this is not a traditional hotel, but a active temple which hosts travellers. My room was traditional room with a tatami floor and shared bathroom. Room and bathroom were both clean and nice. The atmosphere in the temple was calm and quiet throughout my whole stay. Food that was served was amazing. It was also interesting to follow the morning service and the fire ritual. ”

”I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience about this stay. The property is located in an incredibly remote area with absolutely no stores or restaurants nearby. Be aware that the on-site pizza restaurant is closed several days a week, and when it is, you cannot even use the terrace. There are no walking trails around the area, and the owner offered zero recommendations for things to do or places to eat. Furthermore, the place looks nothing like the photos. The...
