Received a text message with check in instructions the day before. On the day had a text to say cleaners running late. Not a big problem, we just arrived 2 hours larger than checking. However on arrival we discovered the apartment we had been given access to was not the one in the listing. The one we were in only had 2 beds whereas the one in the listing had 4. Tried to contact the owner but had no response. Contacted Vrbo who also couldn’t get intouch with them. Decided to follow through on our plans to go out and just make do the for night. Meant having to share beds which was not our plan. Had a text from the host hours later to say the apartment we booked had an incident yesterday so we had to be moved. Why this wasn’t said to us yesterday when the check in instructions were sent I don’t know! It’s not acceptable to sell an apartment with 4 beds and provide one with 2. Vrbo now refusing to refund us because we stayed the night. We didnt have an option as we had no-where else to go and had evening plans so couldn’t spend hours waiting for the owner to respond, or for vrbo to call. The apartment we were given was fine, clean and functional. But not the one I booked. And was short of 2 beds.
