The only thing I truly appreciated about this property was the housekeeping staffâthey were consistent, friendly, and kept our room clean every day. Unfortunately, thatâs where the positives end. The resort is very outdated and in serious need of renovations. Thereâs only one elevator for the entire property, so staying on the fifth floor meant constantly climbing stairs. Staff werenât very welcoming, and the two buffet-style restaurants were overcrowded, disorganized, and not well-maintained. The counters were always dirty, and it was hard to find clean plates or silverware. We found ourselves walking around just asking where the basics were. Lines were long, and despite waiting 30â45 minutes with our group of six, we were passed up for another group of the same sizeâthere was clearly no real system in place.
To make matters worse, the phones in the rooms didnât work, so there was no way to reach the front desk. The room layout was also strangeâthere was no door for the bathroom or shower area. If you're traveling with kids, youâll definitely need to hang a curtain for privacy. The beds were extremely firm and uncomfortable. My family and I usually enjoy staying at RIU Resorts, but this particular location was a huge letdown. Itâs much smaller and less impressive than any other RIU weâve visited. Sadly, we wonât be coming back.
