The Bird's Nest Cottage with a Jacuzzi

Welcome to “Het Vogelnest.” Relax and unwind in this stylish guesthouse. Located at the back of our farmhouse, in a quiet village in Groningen: on the border with Friesland and Drenthe. Your cottage has its own entrance, garden, parking spot, a raised patio with a fire pit, a covered area, and comfortable lounge chairs. No matter where you sit, you’ll always have a beautiful view of the natural surroundings. The covered area features a hot tub, which you can optionally rent for private use.

The space
You enter into the living room with kitchen. This is a single open space. It’s equipped with quality cookware and kitchenware, a coffee maker (quick-filter), a combination microwave/oven, a stove, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. The TV has a Chromecast and a soundbar. Downstairs is also the bathroom with a toilet and a lovely, spacious shower stall with a rain showerhead and a handheld shower. There is also a washing machine here.

The sleeping loft is accessible via a narrow but sturdy staircase and features a spacious (1.60 m) comfortable bed with a double comforter.

Please note: you can only stand upright in the center of the loft, so some flexibility is helpful to get comfortably settled into your bed. From your bed, you have a view of the countryside.

The cottage is heated by electricity and has a decorative fireplace in the living room.
Air conditioning is available for warm days.

Taking good care of yourself and relaxing comes naturally here! Wake up to the chirping of birds and enjoy your breakfast indoors in front of the large sliding glass doors or at one of the lovely spots in the garden, where you’re very likely to spot deer, hares, and storks passing by.

Guest access
From the parking lot, you’ll walk along a path to your cottage. (100 m) There is one other vacation cottage on the property: “Guest House—The Barn—with Jacuzzi,” which accommodates 1–4 people (see our other listing). The parking lot and walkway are shared, but everything else is private. You can also rent both cottages for up to 6 people.

Other things to note
The jacuzzi is located under the canopy and can be rented privately as an optional extra. This can be booked for 1 day or for the entire duration of your stay. Cost: €30 per day. Payment can be made in cash upon arrival. The hot tub cannot be used on the day of departure. Please read the hygiene rules upon arrival.

Our cottages are designed specifically for those seeking peace and relaxation: loud music, noise, and parties are not permitted.

Aurora Hoeve is located in an area without streetlights, making it a dark sky area. On clear nights, this offers a breathtaking view of the twinkling stars and the beautiful night sky. We’ve even spotted the Aurora Borealis this year!

Maximum of 2 people. One baby is allowed, provided you bring your own crib.

Due to the steps, raised terrace, and sleeping loft, we consider this property less suitable for people with limited mobility.
