Great view! Our next room is empty, so we enjoyed a clean and quiet and comfortable room. The parking lot is convinient, too. Host's family is very kind and nice.

This great little B&B run by Sabrina and her family is an absolute pleasure, we ended up staying in two of their three rooms as Orvieto was so amazing we had to stay another night. Both of the residences are perched on the side of the hill top town walls just west of the town gate, an amazing sunset and morning location where the view is perfect. Breakfast was another beauty, and was greatly appreciated as Italians run on espresso till lunch. Park in the garage on the south side, below town, and the elevator brings you up feet from the front door, really the perfect location and a wonderful, caring, and gracious family that are proud to share the love of their town.

Disappointed

I booked a room here in November for my honeymoon based on the great reviews I read from previous visitors and was completely dissatisfied. We arrived fairly late due to travel issues and received an email from Sabrina, the owner, that day saying she could only hold our room until 7:30pm when the advertised check-in end time was 8pm. When we finally made it, she was headed out to dinner (which I assume is why she said 7:30pm). The room itself was ok. The shower is rather small but the views made up for it. My husband was awake at 6am and relaxing in the living room when Sabrina came in and told him that he was not allowed to sleep in the common area. He found her to be quite rude, especially since he was not sleeping but simply perusing the internet while he waited for me to wake up. To end our two days here, I was hopeful that the owner would drop us off at the train station as it is on the other side of the town and I had read multiple reviews where others said she had extended this courtesy to them (including a couple that departed the day we arrived). When I inquired, Sabrina quickly said she could call us a taxi, which wound up costing us $15 just to go a few miles. Needless to say, we were happy to depart. Perhaps she was having an off weekend but I would not stay here again; or visit Orvieto in the future again for that matter.

Sabrina, our host, made amazing breakfasts everyday, all freshly made by her. She was engaging and helpful, helping us with travel arrangements and calling a taxi for us. The room was charming and clean with an absolutely unreal view!

Love love love this place! Orvieto is such a medieval type town and this B & B was perfect! The location was wonderful and the view out the window was fabulous. It's very close to some very cool restaurants and easy walking distance to just about anywhere. Sabrina couldn't be there to greet us but she sent a replacement emissary and we were totally charmed. Luca did not speak English but we managed. He directed us to a couple different restaurants and they were spot on. This place is clean, comfortable and very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Can't say enough good things about Ripa Medici.

Sabrina is a wonderful host who operates a delightful B&B on a quite cobbled street in Orvieto. The location is excellent as is the plentiful breakfast you will enjoy in the family's kitchen. My wife and I enjoyed 3 nights there in July 2015 and hope to visit again. We were pleased with how clean the bedroom and private bath were and the proximity to the best restaurants in town is literally measured in steps. In 3 days we had absolutely no need for motorized transportation except to take in a winery tour some distance away. It's not opulent or palatial, but is a great value and I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with the experience.

Wonderful place and host

We enjoyed staying at Villa Medici very much. Sabrina is such a lovely host and she's making a delicious breakfast. She spared no effort in preparing a wonderful breakfast for us even though we are having allergies and cooking for us can be quite complicated. The room is in a perfect quiet location and still in walking distance to all the beautiful places in Orvieto. I can only recommend this place and would always book it again!

Wunderschönes B&B mit einem unglaublichen Blick!

Mai 2015 habe ich zwei Nächte im Bed & Breakfast Ripa Medici verbracht. Ich kann den ganzen Aufenthalt nur als traumhaft beschreiben. Die Betreiberin hat uns in der 1-Zimmer-Wohnung direkt an der Stadtmauer untergebracht, obwohl wir eigentlich ein kleineres Zimmer gebucht hatten. Alles war perfekt. Die Wohnung war blitzsauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr ruhig. Die Lage ist fast zu schön, um wahr zu sein: man hat einen wunderschönen Blick über die Landschaft Umbriens buchstäblich vor der Haustür (und von der Küche aus). Trotzdem ist man nur einen kurzen (10 min) Spaziergang vom Duomo und 5 min. von der Hauptstraße; kostenlose Parkplätze sind auch in Fussnähe. Das Frühstück ist toll, und die Gastgeberin ist offen, freundlich und hilfsbereit aber dennoch kompetent und gut organisiert. Ich werde auf jeden Fall hier wieder übernachten und kann diese B&B 100% empfehlen, insbesondere für Pärchen oder jemanden, der eine besondere Unterkunft sucht.

You will fall in love with Ripa Medici

We were looking for place to stay near la Civita di Bagnoregio and came across the reviews for Ripa Medici. We made the right choice! Our only mistake was not to book several nights! The B&B is within and literally right next to the walls of the old "cita" Orvieto. It is walking distance from the cathedral, St. Patrick's well, and fantastic shopping and trattorias. It is a short drive to Bagnoregio, a not to be missed experience, - and - if you do not have a car, there is regularly scheduled transportation to the site. Orvieto is a great place to explore and has the best gelatoria with the best gelato we have ever tasted!

Lovely B&B

This was a stop on the way from the Dolomites to Florence. It is a lovely B&B with a comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and friendly staff.

We loved Ripa Medici Bed & Breakfast. The room was in an amazing location with an incredible view at our door. Our host Sabrina cooked delicious breakfasts and was extremely kind and welcoming.

Vansinnig väg upp till hotellet. Man fick backa i kurvorna. Massor av trappor. Men en gudomlig utsikt från rummet. Värt mödan. Min man gick vilse , ha ha. Bra läge i staden. Vi var nöjda och kommer gärna tillbaka.

Wonderful time in Orvieto.

We really enjoyed our stay. Sabrina was the perfect hostess. Each morning we had a different breakfast with each one delicious. We got wonderful information on places for dinner. Our room was very comfortable and clean. By the time we left we considered Sabrina a new friend. Would definitely recommend B & B Ripa Medici.

Magnificent stay in Orvieto

We had an unforgettable time in Orvieto. Federico picked us up with all our luggage from the station, and both he and Sabrina welcomed us like family! We stayed in the room upstairs with a 4 poster bed, great bathroom, and a million dollar view across the vineyards, sharing the living space with another lovely couple. Breakfasts at Sabrina's home were a highlight, beautiful home cooking and lots of laughs! The hilltop town itself is gorgeous, the B & B within easy walking distance to everything. We would go back there in a heartbeat, and would always stay at Ripa Medici. Thank-you so much Sabrina and Federico. Can't wait to read of your adventures in Eric's novel!!

Fabulous location with breathtaking views

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at Casa Bianca in mid September. We were met by Sabrina and her husband Federico. They could not have been more helpful or hospitable. They showed me where to park and how the apartment worked. Casa Bianca provided us with everything we needed for our stay. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Federico obviously is a proud native of Orvieto and had many suggestions on things to do and see. Their restaurant recommendations provided us with memorable meals.

Fantastisk B&B

Helt rolig beliggenhed på kanten af Orvieto med vidunderlig udsigt. Smukt indrettet, super rent. Delikat morgenmad. Sabrina er en enestående værtinde, man føler sig meget velkommen. Vi havde desværre kun planlagt 1 overnatning, ville gerne være blevet længere. Håber at komme igen.

Old City of Orvietto

We stayed here for our first and last nights on our recent trip to Tuscany, on our way back to Rome. The B & B is in a great location in the old city of Orvietto. Sabrina gave us a warm welcome and the rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. She gave us a nice home-made breakfast on both occasions and helped us find our way around. There is underground parking as well which meant that we didn't have to worry about where to leave the car. We would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing place to stay.

Orvieto is a beautiful place to spend time and staying at Ripa Medici B&B was a great experience. We had a lovely warm welcome from Sabrina and stayed in an apartment with our own bedroom and en suite bathroom plus shared living/dining room and kitchen which worked perfectly for us. The whole place is traditional Italian, very stylish and extremely comfortable. Everything we could have needed was provided and the breakfasts lived up to all the previous reviews - they were absolutely gorgeous and different every day. This is one of the best places we have stayed in (and we have travelled a fair bit). We would definitely recommend Sabrina's B&B and stay there again ourselves.

I honestly believe the pictures and description do not do Ripa Medici justice. I thought it looked great on line... In person even better. We stayed in "Casa Bianca" for two nights, and walking into our little apartment after travelling from Canada was breathtaking. The decor is welcoming and perfect....Sabrina is incredible. So warm, helpful and has created this amazing holiday retreat. Breakfast... It is in her home and her creations are amazing. The chocolate pastry was fresh from her oven, the most delicious breakfast. Fresh figs, strawberries, fresh pie, each day different and all of it awesome. She should be opening a bakery too as her talents are endless. We will not stay anywhere else when we fly to Rome and travel north. This is our 9th trip to Italy and this was the best start to our trip we have ever had. Air conditioning in the room, big bedroom, fantastic shower, small kitchen to keep drinks/snacks. The view when you walk out the door is breathtaking, and Sabrina as a geniuine, gifted host. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Very nice town with even nicer people

Sabrina and Federico were awesome hosts during our stay in Orvieto. We had only one night there, but wish we had spent more time it was such a unique city on a hill top of lava. They gave us great recommendations for eating out. We ate at Número Uno which was exquisite. We stayed in a room called the White House. I took my mom to italy for her 71 birthday for two weeks. I think her favorite place was via Ripa Medici and Orvieto.
