”We loved our stay! Their breakfast was very delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view spectacular! Their on site restaurant was delicious just a little pricey. The staff was very helpful. Our only complaint was the many bugs that are able to come in the rooms and the fact that our garden view room had no AC. We were afraid to open the porch doors because of the many little creatures and there was no screen to keep them out. But it was beautiful!! ”

”We visited Monteverde in the end of our vacation and it was definitely the right decision. Service was very polite and friendly. Rooms were clean and large, but cold, especially at nights. I think this was the best hotel for our purpose to visit the Monteverde forest area and there were also easy bus connections to Santa Elena. Food in the hotel restaurant was delicious!”

”We stayed 4 nights in Fonda Vela. Pros: staff, easy to organize activities via reception, restaurant, hotel surroundings and trail. Also close to reserve (15 min walk). Cons: the rooms were a bit outdated, as if they haven't touched them in 20 years or so? No aircon either, 1st night was very cold in the room. The pool area - the bar was never open, the water was cold and the games (pooltable, fussball etc.) were quite dirty. Also lots of birds nesting in the pool area roof... But hey, most...
