THE PROPERTY:
A beautiful gatehouse conversion on the edge of a private country estate, completely unique and wrapped in luxurious touches. Leconfield Lodge is listed here by inspirestays-com, the leading independent Sussex holiday company. Visit us direct for full info about this home, including a video tour.

From the expansive lawn the front door opens into the living space, with underfloor heating and in the sitting room area a log stove too. The well-equipped kitchen is colourful and expressive, and the dining table sits under a high ceiling in front of the huge window, casting light throughout and offering fantastic views.

Up the spiral stairs, the bedroom has an internal balcony that looks down to the living space below. There is a super king (6’) bed and in-room roll-top bath, with a separate shower room/WC tucked behind a hidden door. To the other side of the bed is a hidden dressing room/nursery, and a large wardrobe.

Outside, a large open lawn looks across the valley and a wild meadow towards Petworth House and the pretty town. Whilst there are countryside footpaths in the area, the lodge retains a feeling of remoteness that is rare to find elsewhere. For your peace of mind and privacy the adjacent second lodge cannot be booked separately. There is a small bothy (a tiny one-bedroom home) which can be booked separately, however this is to the other side of the lodges and does not overlook your accommodation. Both the second lodge and bothy are available to book as additional accommodation if you would like to stay here with friends – please search for us direct online for details of this. LOCAL AREA:
It is 2 miles by car or a 1.5 mile country walk into the centre of Petworth, best known as the location of the stately home Petworth House and its vast deer park. This old town is quintessential old England, small streets lined with cottages, antique shops, tearooms and restaurants. There are two pubs about a miles’ walk from Leconfield Lodge, and Petworth town has some fine eateries. There’s a well-stocked Co-op here, or larger Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s supermarkets in Pulborough.

- This property has a security deposit which is a condition of booking, we will contact you after booking to arrange.
- Once you have placed your booking request, before we can process your booking we will require some simple additional details such as postal address, guest names and direct email. Please do not book if you are unable to provide this information, as we cannot offer a refund on this basis.
- Arrival and departure times are clearly stated. As our properties can be booked right up until the last minute, we are unable to confirm early check-in or late check-out requests until 24-72 hours prior to your arrival/departure. Should you prefer to guarantee any such request now, please add an additional night to the start and/or end of your booking.

- This is a pet-free property.
- Accessibility: Gravel drive 20m from the property, with a 10m flat path to the main entrance (10m walk over grass to the side entrance). One step (15cm) over the front door threshold. Spiral staircase (with banister and standard risers) to the bedroom and shower room/WC on the first floor, low step (2cm) into the walk-in shower. Other internal floors are even and level, with no internal steps. This is intended as a guide only and accuracy is not guaranteed, please contact us if you need more info. Measurements are approx.
- Kitchen facilities: double electric fan oven, 4 electric hobs, American fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, cafetière, stove top coffee pot.
- Utility/laundry room (adjacent building, available during your stay): washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, clothes airer and iron/ironing board. Please note this is also used for storage by the owners and we offer it to guests for the laundry facilities only.
- Due to the property’s remote location, there is external CCTV installed and a security alarm. There is no internal CCTV inside the buildings.
- Free private parking is available on the driveway behind the house, with space for 2 cars.
- One infant up to age 2 is welcome in addition to the total guest capacity of this property (please bring your own cot and bedding). 1 highchair is available on request.
- Gas underfloor Central Heating.

Magical Birthday weekend

I had booked the whole lodge to host my birthday dinner and it was magical! the setting, the decor, the overall feel and atmosphere of the picturesque property was second to non. A real treat ! the most comfortable beds and duvets, magnificent views, wonderfully peaceful, everything we could have asked for and more. Highly recommend for a truly magnificent weekend away.
