The location and view of this place is so lovely . I Will recommend this place . The pool water though needs frequent maintenance especially during summer . It’s starting to be crowded .

This is a wonderful place to stay - the staff was friendly and attentive, the grounds were easy to get around, the fitness center and dining options were top notch. Only complaint was somewhat loud live music playing in the bar until 10pm you can hear in your hotel room but all around would recommend and stay here again.

This is a gorgeous property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed for 2 nights. We ate dinner one night at El Chorro (just a block up the street, highly recommend) and one night at Hearth 61 (also recommend). We had drinks at the bar a few times and ordered breakfast from there both mornings. We also had drinks at Rustys twice and enjoyed the view of the golf course with the mountain in the background - so peaceful. We spent the day at the pool which was lovely. We were there on a weekday in early May and it wasn't crowded at all. Service at the pool was a little slow, but I think that's because one of the 2 employees was brand new/in training. Our room was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the minbar with very fair prices on some items (chips - $1). We were on the 2nd floor and had a balcony with views of the mountain. The chairs on the balcony aren't super comfortable, but we just loved having an outdoor area to sit and relax at times. The hotel has been nicely redone and decorated beautifully in mid century modern decor. There are tons of nice places to sit and relax or hang out with others if you are traveling in a group. We had a a really nice time and if we are ever back in the area, we would absolutely stay here again.

An absolute gem of a property. The setting is gorgeous, the facilities are fabulous, the staff is on point...courteous, helpful, efficient and always present....and the restaurants are terrific. I just left and i already miss my home away from home in Scottsdale.

Our beloved family dog (on a leash) was attacked by another dog on the golf course edge by the hotel. All guests/residents are required to have their dogs on a leash. The dog that attacked our retriever was not on a leash. He left a bite mark on our dog and luckily we were able to chase him away before it could have been worse. We promptly reported the incident to the front desk. The gentlemen said he was the assistant manager. All details provided. He said they would investigate and get back to us promptly. The attack was Friday night. On Tuesday night, we circled back to the front desk, same gentleman, for a report/feedback. There was none other than to say that they didn't find any dog on the golf course when they investigated and that was it. They were going to review all the pet forms on file and see if they could find a match. They never did. We reported in detail the description of the attacking dog even though the attack occurred at night. Disappointing to say the least that Mountain Shadows Resort did not follow up at all on this matter. For a property to say and hold themselves out as pet friendly, and they are, they need to provide a safe environment for their pet guests. Very disappointing. All else was fine during our stay, but to watch a vicious dog attack on your own leashed dog and have to chase the dog away and then to be met with front desk indifference and the attacking dog's owner(s) being disrespectful is pathetic.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We were very sorry to hear about this incident. Our goal is to make all of our guests feel cared for and appreciated, including those traveling with pets. Upon learning of the incident, we immediately dispatched security to patrol the area; unfortunately, by that time, the group and dog described were no longer in the area. We also reviewed our pet registration forms in detail and were not able to identify the dog as belonging to a guest of the resort. There are some people from outside the resort who have access to this area, which seems like the most likely case in this incident since we could not identify the group or dog in question. All dogs should of course be leashed, and we were concerned to hear that this wasn’t the case. We are very sorry for the distressing incident you experienced. We would love another opportunity to welcome you back and create a great experience for you. Thank you again.

From Sam at valet greeting us when we arrived to all the excellent service in the restaurant to the beautiful pool, the walking trails around the property, the fruit infused water in the lobby, the delectable bath products in the shower —everything was perfect and set the tone for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend getaway in Scottsdale. I love this resort!

Beautiful Arizona experience with a movie backdrop landscape, which makes it a favorite destination for weddings. We appreciated the gym and the trainers' professionalism.The service, everywhere on the property, was courteous, efficient and friendly. Impressive as well was the restaurant and the bar with high quality food and drinks and excellent service. Definitely we would return one day!

I definitely recommend this hotel. Each staff member we encountered, was friendly and efficient- Special shoutout to the bar staff (Morning coffee/breakfast and a night cap in the evening) for the conversation and great service! The grounds were beautiful and the pool was warm despite lower than normal temps outside.

My two adult children and myself absolutely LOVED our stay!! The views are spectacular!! The staff are absolutely wonderful!! The food was delicious!! We loved the pools and hot tub!! Our room was perfect and the resort is spotless!! We were close enough to everything we wanted to do. Our favorite was Old Town Scottsdale and the Botanical Gardens. Do not hesitate to book a stay at this resort. You will LOVE it!!! It was a hard place to leave!!!
