  • With front-row views of Pickering’s famous steam railway, this welcoming three-bedroom home is a wonderful base for a Yorkshire holiday. It’s perfect for a trip with friends or family – all the local sites and amenities are close by, including Pickering’s dramatic motte-and-bailey castle (100 metres) and friendly cafes, pubs and shops (within 0.5 miles). Take a nostalgic trip from Pickering’s steam train station or learn about social history at the local museum (both 0.5 miles). Fancy heading further afield? Head to Helmsley (13.5 miles) for its abbey ruins and elegant walled garden, or make for the coast where Cayton Bay Beach (19.5 miles) offers golden sand and rolling surf. Other fab options for trips are Peasholm Park’s oriental gardens (18 miles), Scarborough’s open-air theatre (18 miles) and Castle Howard (14.5 miles), a truly magnificent stately home steeped in history.

    The home is laid out over three floors, beginning with a country-style kitchen featuring a Belfast sink, charming breakfast bar and gorgeous Karndean flooring. To reach the two double bedrooms, each showcasing original ornamental fireplaces, head up to the first floor. You’ll also find a luxurious family bathroom complete with a free-standing bath for indulgent soaks.

    Outside, descend a set of steps to access a pretty terrace that looks out towards the railway, providing a delightful spot for al fresco dining as the steam trains glide past. You’ll have a parking permit for Platform 3 Car Park (350 metres) for the duration of your stay.
