”This facility was built in 1895…has enormous character and history…only 6 rooms…in a beautiful residential area…quiet, on a cliff overlooking Monterey bay (no beach access)…rooms are so charming…we had a little patio and a good sized small frig…the coffee maker made terrible coffee…you do get a continental breakfast, but it’s delivered to your room…toasted bagels, pastries from the local bakery, carafe of coffee…juice, fresh cut fruit…real plates & silverware…just raises the bar a bit. Please...

”Our first night at the Monte Cristo was just awful: we were in an upstairs, back-side room on a warm evening. No ventilation to speak of, and no AC, meant that at 11pm, when it had cooled to 75-degrees outside, our room was 82-degrees. It finally dropped below 76-degrees around 4am. The second night was like night and day: we were moved to a street-side room, airy and well-ventilated, and spent a terrific day and evening there. ”The patio is a must to sightsee ocean from Carmel. The Jacuzzi tub which could fit two persons is great. The only thing i would mention is one side of the mattress was broken...I will need to sleep on sofa :(”
