The Surfside Motel was a huge disappointment and uninhabitable. It was dirty and disgusting. The sheets and towels were dirty, there was fecal matter on the walls, it was very noisy in the area, the smell of marijuana and mold was pervasive. My friend also had a room and there were holes in the walls and her shower didn’t work. A giant cockroach crawled out of the wall. I went to report it to the front desk and asked that they exterminate it. They had nothing, not even bug spray, and did not address the issue. The person there during the night said to check with the Glendale, which is a different motel. We asked for a refund and they refused. My friend left and paid for another hotel because it was so disgusting. I called in advance to make sure it was a family friendly, clean and quiet hotel because I was taking my children for a dance competition. The staff were not honest with us. They should really offer a refund for such deplorable conditions. The parking lot was very difficult to get in and out of and it was in disrepair as was every other part of this motel. I’m surprised Expedia would even offer it. It’s dangerous for young children. I would not recommend it for families.
