Lomamajat – Port Douglas Hinterlands

”The rooms (and property) were one step above a hostel. Although the pool and surrounding area appeared relatively clean, the public kitchen area was obviously exposed to the outdoor elements and the rooms were completely stripped down. There were remnants of missing artwork, curtains and many other common elements in the rooms, while spider webs and other insects were prevalent. The bathroom windows were slightly tinted, but with the backlighting in the bathroom, occupants were clearly visible...

”We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The room had everything we needed, small kitchen, with fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. The bathroom was great, big walk in shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. There is a small swimming pool, which our son enjoyed. A covered outdoor kitchen with barbie for guests to use. There is also a laundry for guests. We didn't use these. The location is great, a 2 minute walk to the beach and to the shops and restaurants, couldn't be better. The...

”Mantra Portsea is nicely decorated apartment hotel within walking distance from the center. The service level is good otherwise, but the rooms are only cleaned once a week. We stayed for 4 days so this was sufficient. You can get clean towels if you like. The breakfast was good. However during my stay I washed some clothes and they were damaged because the clotheshorse in the balcony was rusted. The hotel agreed to compensate the clothes after the housekeeping was unable to remove the stains....

”We reserved a Spa Suite for $425 USD - upon arrival, the assigned room was tucked in the back corner of the property and was very, very tiny with a large tub on the outside deck - certainly not a room that should be advertised as a "suite". Even worse, the only view from the room/deck was looking at the backside of another building and the air conditioning units for each room. We asked to be moved to another room, but unfortunately, the property was completely booked so they could not move us....

”Great 3-bedroom villa with lots of space and our own plunge pool. Some of it was a bit outdated and run down - e.g. shutters very stiff, one treadmill in the gym didn't work properly. But overall, still a lovely stay. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Highly recommend hiring a car as this resort is not walking distance to the main town.”

”The blinds in the sitting room were missing about 40% therefore offering no privacy. So required us to be fully dressed when on the 1st floor.”

”We stayed in room 1207. It was very, musty and damp smelling. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and as it costs $20 to replace towels they were wet for our stay unless you wanted to do washing. The kitchen amenities were extremely basic and the TV postion is not viewable from bed..... something that is nice when having a Nana nap on holidays. The outdoor spa wasn't clean. There was 2 cheap broken hair dryers in the bathroom and with so much water on the floor it didn't feel safe to use...
