The location of the home was very nice and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and saw several deer in the fields each evening. Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped. My only reason for giving a rating of 3 is that the couch cushions were pretty worn out so sitting inside wasn’t very comfortable and the queen mattress in the back room sunk into the middle of bed.

Peaceful stay, not returning

Overall, we had a good time but would not return. Check-in was great and the location is private and peaceful. The house is spacious, we enjoyed playing cards, games and exploring the area. It’s clear the home was once lovely, with higher-end furnishings and thoughtful design choices. However, it’s quite rough around the edges at this stage and needs care, updates and deep clean. One of the bedrooms had a strong urine smell, so we left that door closed since we only needed two rooms. The bedding looked clean but had a strong musty odor we couldn’t tolerate. I rewashed the bedding and that resolved the issue. One blanket had a hole larger than a quarter with stuffing coming out. More attention to these details is needed so repairs and replacements can be made. We loved the large kitchen, plenty of counter space and lovely windows. The Nespresso machine was a wonderful touch and got daily use. However, all the pans were so scratched we didn’t feel comfortable using them—we ended up buying a cheap set at Walmart. The oven is small, outdated, and doesn’t work well. On a positive note, the dishwasher, washer, and dryer worked great. The fridge’s ice maker wasn’t functional, so we purchased a bag of ice. Also, when the bathtub drains, it backs up into the shower, which was unpleasant. In summary, the home is in a great location, beautifully decorated, and has potential, but it needs maintenance and more attention to detail.

If you are looking for "quiet in the country", this is your stay.

Let me start by saying that our host for this stay is probably the most friendly and communicative host I've ever encountered. At EVERY step of the way (including a last minute extension request) she was quick, responsive, and accommodating. Inside, this is a standard well furnished single level country HOME. 3BR, 2Bath with a NICE jacuzzi tub in the main bath, The host allows use of the garage, which in my experience is a rarity and much appreciated. (starting your stay without having to unload in the cold or rain is a DEFINATE plus!) The kitchen is VERY well stocked with just about every appliance you could want for your stay, including rarities such as a crock pot and blender. The host is also kind enough to include a nespresso and pods with a quick note about which pods are which "intensity" so if you choose the high test, whatever happens next is on you! lol Outside is a large yard (unfenced) In the front is a south facing porch where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets or sunrises with your coffee if you're a proper early riser. :)In the back, there is an area with a picnic table, and anther with a fire ring and comfy chairs to relax and watch the deer in the evenings. If you don't watch the deer doing their deer thing at least one evening, you're really missing out.Do note that the curtains in the bedrooms are sheers, so if you're a late sleeper, bring your sleep mask!I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. 12/10 will do again!

Romantic or Family Getaway!

A lovely and very comfortable country home with modern conveniences. Perfect for a romantic or family getaway. Wide open outdoor space makes for spectacular sunsets and sunrises. A quiet place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the countryside with plenty of birds and deer to watch and room to play. Lila, the host of the family farm/property is awesome. Annual Birthday Trip

Our trip was wonderful. The house sits in a quiet serene location, but close enough for us to go to the races at Kentucky Downs, see the show Shiners in Nashville, visit Mammoth Cave, and have some bourbon tasting in Bardstown. This is my favorite destination, and plan to return annually as long as Lila will have us.

Christmas Gathering

Wonderful Weekend in the Farmland

We have stayed on this property while visiting our daughter and family, during numerous occasions. We love the location and ranch-style home. Roomy and well-equipped. I am very happy with the cleanliness of the home this time. Seemed more effort given to cleaning. We had a great weekend and will be staying there again. We were only able to stay one of two nights paid, and hopefully will be able to relax next visit for the full three days! Looking forward to it. Lovely area.
