”Beautiful conversion of a historic courthouse with loads of character. Spacious, clean rooms, a very comfortable bed, and a good included breakfast. Free parking and 10-15 minute walk to the waterfront and downtown restaurants. A few areas are a little scruffy (surrounding grounds more than anything), but it didn’t take away from an enjoyable stay. For us and our dogs. Would definitely stay again.”

I booked and paid through Expedia, but when I arrived to check in, the person at the front desk immediately said “no locals” in a rude and dismissive tone. If this hotel refuses local guests, that policy should be clearly stated on both Expedia and the hotel’s own website before anyone books and pays. ”Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was just ok. Bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned with hair left on the shower walls. Air conditioner was in poor condition and making noises. Free wifi was advertised but we ended up having to pay for it and it was not worth it. Not enough bandwidth.”

”We look for reasonably priced & clean. This was not that. The shower had mildew, did not work properly & the wallpaper was peeling. The air conditioner was on high & we could not adjust it. ”At 3:00am the night manager allowed a group of high school graduates to stay at the hotel (presumably they had been thrown out of their first choice). I was informed that one of the group was a friend of a friend of the night manager. The group shouted, screamed, constantly went from room to room slamming doors, and ran loudly along corridors until about 7:00am. I understand the night manager was asked to call the police but did not (presumably his friends didn’t get in trouble) so the entire...

”Was okay for one night to get a shower and the sheets seemed clean. The curtain rod and curtains fell off the back window when I tried to open them and the TV had no sound -tried everything with the complicated two remote controls - nope.”

”Upon arrival, we were utterly disappointed. The photos do not properly depict the hotel’s terrible condition. The room was disgusting, it looked as though it had been previously broken into, it was not clean, the sheets were not white, but a dingy grey. We very quickly requested a refund and continued on our way to find something better. The man at the front desk was very helpful and assured us that a refund had been processed. Please do yourself a favour and don’t consider staying here.”
