”From walking in the door staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and clean, with a good powerful shower.
Breakfast was excellent in terms of quantity and quality, again with very friendly service.
The only slight negative that I had was, what I assume was air freshener, was very overpowering and unpleasant.”
”The staff were Brilliant. We were given what could be described as a standard room when we arrived. When we showed reception picture of room which was booked they changed room to room on picture immediately. It was mentioned that it should not have been advertised as a superior room. Hotel was perfect for a warm , quiet welcome after a day walking. Staff were fantastic. ”

”Hotel as described. 10 minutes walk into Grasmere. Free parking, although I doubt enough if hotel at capacity. Bus stop outside. Breakfast was nice & plenty of options. We had dinner one evening and it was good & good value.
Dog friendly, in fact Luna felt bery welcome!
We decline one days room clean in exchange for a couple of free drinks, that was a nice idea and encoraged reuse of towels etc

I arrived late around 2300, not able to find the property, call them and call answer straight away.
Clean nice room. Very high standard for a guest house. I would say hotel grade as I have been a hotel manager in most of my career in hospitality industry. ”

”Room was a good size, upgraded from what we booked which was a nice surprise, we arrived early and checked if the room was ready which it was so again this was a bonus! No staff on site that we saw but didn’t really need anyone, free to come and go as we pleased and the property felt secure and safe we even left the patio doors open to allow fresh air in, perfect location. Quiet spot in walking distance of Ambleside pubs would definitely return. ”
”The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. ”
