Great stay. Very well located in Rhayader just a minute’s walk from its centre. Paul is a gracious host cooking us hot breakfast everyday. Highly recommended.

Loved our 3 night stay at The Horseshoe Guesthouse. Superb complimentary cooked breakfast. Dogs are welcome and there's lots of walks for them nearby.

Good stay, close to everything in the town, unfortunately we were in the loft as there were 4 of us, not easy carrying bags up the stairs, but a nice place all the same.

Quirky but nice, the staff (Paul) were very helpful with good local knowledge. It's a great location within Rhayader for visiting the Elan Valley and local amenities. Netflix on the TV was a bonus and the breakfast was delicious especially the mushrooms.

A great guesthouse, Paul the host was excellent. Breakfast cooked to order which was lovely. Parking on site. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay in a lovely location, great host and he cooked a great breakfast. The village has lots of pubs restaurants and things to do. This isn’t our first stay and it won’t be our last!

Perfect for solo travellers
I booked a single room as I was just staying overnight but could have quite happily spent two weeks here. My room was so much nicer than the website pics. Light and airy and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was amazing!

This is what a guest house should be.
Excellent Guest house, just one street from the town center with its bars, shops and restaurants. Paul the host was very welcoming the whole duration of my stay, he regularly asked if I needed anything. The room was very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, they had even filled the kettle with water when I arrived. The Welsh full breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked and using local produce. (it was that good I purchased bacon and sausages from the butcher to take back home with me) The location is great for a wander in the evening around town, have a beer and some excellent food at the local bars. If you are there on livestock market day, its worth a visit to see the local farmers at work. Don't forget to dip your shoes before you enter the market hall....

Really warm welcome from Paul who expecting us when we arrived. Great Breakfast. Quirky little Guesthouse based right in the center of Rhayader, the perfect place for exploring the Elan Valley. Would definitely recommend.

Nice B&B, excellent location for trail riding
Conveniently located in the centre of town, down a nice quiet street. Good sized, well appointed and comfortable rooms. Generous breakfast served by friendly and helpful owner. Orientated to those who wish to make the most of the great outdoors or explore the local attractions. Secure storage for around 6-8 vehicles, including campers or vans. Secure storage shed for bikes too.

Excellent!
My satnav took me direct to the Horseshoe where there was good parking. It is in the centre of Rhayader, so easy to access local facilities. The host, Paul, was very helpful, friendly and polite. My single room was a good size with nice old pine furniture. I hadn't realised when I booked the room that the 'private bathroom' was a shared facility, but it was adjacent to my room. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and served in a lovely dining room. I stayed for two nights at the Horseshoe, and would have stayed longer if I'd been able to. Thank you Paul for a great stay.

Very pleasant and friendly
We had a very warm welcome from Paul who gave us a lot of information about the area. Although we were only there for a night we had recommendations for the best place for dinner and local sites. An excellent breakfast was served in the dining room. We visited the Elan dam area and toured the dams, we also visited the Red Kite centre at Gigrin farm and another feeding station further south near Brecon.

To me it's the best b&b in the area. Only minor complaints not enough tea and coffee in room, the mattress on bed to firm everything else in room is good quality but cheap mattress!

Went for a weekend break mountain biking, safe storage was provided free of charge. No problems with coming back all muddy!! Eating places recommended by Paul were amazing, all fresh produce locally sourced. Fab weekend!!

We arrived early for our one night stay, and were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome. The room was clean and well equipped. The location of the hotel was central to all our needs and Rhayader was a very pretty and welcoming town.

Great place to stay in Central Wales
Arrived later than expected, but was warmly greeted by Paul. The room had the feel of a traditional Welsh cottage (which was good); fairly basic, but clean and with all of the facilities which are to be expected. The guest house is situation on a very quiet street just a few minutes walk from the centre of Rhayader. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, and really good quality. I would definitely return here.

the owner Paul was faboulous, its a lovely place to stay and would highly recommend. its shame he oviously has a sunday off as the breakfast wasnt up to its usual standard and quite a long wait but i guess everyone needs a day off - well done Paul marvellous place !!
