Eastington Manor. Bizarrely situated right up against the Chevron oil refinery, but facing away from the sinister looming dome behind, is this impressive collection of old buildings, parts of which, on the seaward side - a fortified tower house with hall, vaulted undercroft and external staircase - are thought to date back to the C15 or even earlier. The only downside was having to wait for hot food at breakfast. Had to wait for scrambled eggs to be replenished. By the time I had egg the bacon had all gone, by the time the bacon arrived my egg was cold. The restaurant wasn’t too busy but the service was slow.
