Saavuimme Riikaan aamukoneella klo 9.15 ja olimme hotellilla jo 10.30 aikomuksena jättää laukku säilöön siihen asti että saamme huoneen klo14. Vastaanottovirkailija katsoi koneelta että heillä on jo kaksi huonetta siivottuna, joten saimme huoneen yli kolme tuntia etuajassa. Hotelli oli erinomaisen siisti, paikat oli kunnossa ja palvelu oli erittäin hyvää ja henkilökunta avuliasta ja ystävällistä, mitään ongelmia ei tullut kolmen yön vierailumme aikana. Aamiainen oli erittäin kattava ja herkullinen, puuroa, pekonia, nakkeja, munia oli kokkelina, keitettynä, paistettuna ja omeletteina. Oli kalaa, hedelmiä ja vihanneksia ja makeita tuotteita jne. Juomia oli montaa sorttia tuoremehusta kuohuviiniin. Hotellin sijainti oli mielestämme erinomainen, heti tien toisella puolella oli upea puisto jonka läpi kävelemällä olit muutamassa minuutissa vanhassakaupungissa. Lentokentältä tulimme bussilla nro22 ja jäimme heti Daugava-joen ylityksen jälkeen ekalle pysäkille, josta oli noin 1km kävely vanhan kaupungin läpi hotellille. Lähtiessä kävelimme samalle pysäkille josta 1.50€ lipulla kentälle samaisella nro22 bussilla. Hotellilta ehtii lentokentälle helposti tunnissa, kävelyineen ja bussimatkoineen. Kaikenkaikkiaan lomamme Riikassa oli hieno kokemus ja Grand Poet Hotel varmasti yksi kaupungin parhaimpia.

Professional staff with excellent language skills. Clean and stylish. Good breakfast which would be excellent when a omelette would also be included. Otherwise tasty and wide selection of items. Mukava kokemus
Hotellin sijainti oli hyvä, aamiainen loistava ja spa ihana. Suosittelen myös pistäytymään Snob-baarissa. Olen yöpynyt täällä kahdesti aiemminkin, mutta tällä kerralla huone ei ollut yhtä mukava kuin aiemmin; huone oli pimeä ja ikkunasta näkyi vain sisäpihalla oleva ränni. Kannattanee siis erikseen pyytää huone jokinäkymällä. Spa on virallisesti vain aikuisille iltaisin seitsemän jälkeen, mutta ainakin yhtenä iltana sinne päästettiin pikkulapsi kahdeksan aikoihin. Vähän odottaisin, että tämän tason hotellissa noudatettaisiin paikan omia sääntöjä.

Minilomalle luksusta
LOISTAVALLA paikalla, loistava hotelli. Kaikki on kävelymatkan päässä, mutta tämä hotelli kelpaa myös ihan matkakohteeksi itsessään jos hakee helppoa hemmottelua. Wellness spa, kuntosali, baari ja ravintola sekä kokoustilat palveluineen löytyy, joten pakko ei ole edes poistua. Sen verran kaunis kaupunki on kuitenkin, että ellei ole liikkumisvaikeuksia mukulakivillä niin kannattaa kiertää ulkonakin. Huone oli korkeaa tasoa. Löytyy paljon mitä ei muualla näe, mutta 5 tähden hotellissa voisi olla ehkä pehmeämpi peti (muihin hotelleihin verrattuna jäykempi) vaikka olikin mukava. Ammeesta ei ollut iloa, koska vedenpaine on niin alhainen että täyttöön menisi 2h ja vesi ehtisi jäähtyä kylmäksi. Silityslautaa ja rautaa ei huoneesta löydy. The stay was very nice and the staff was excellent. Although, it says that they have parking available at the hotel, it is not true and we had to park our car in a parking service block, which was near the hotel.

Hyvä hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla. Kuntosali ja kylpyläosaston hyvin varusteltuja ja hienoja. Palvelu sujuvaa kaikin puolin. Korona ajan turvallisuusasiat oli hyvin otettu huomioon hotellin eri toiminnoissa.
