”The hotel is in a bad part of town. Although the room appeared clean, the decor and feel of the room was straight out of the early eighties. The walls are paper thin. We experienced multiple rooms with fighting tenants and some with "loving" tenants. My son and I were immediately approached by someone, whom appeared to be on drugs, asking for a cigarette, and were asked for money the next morning. If it werent for the 9 hours of driving we had just accomplished, I am not sure either of us would...

”The hotel could use a basic "refresh". While my room was a nice size, it was a bit run down and could use an overall upgrade. The staff was great - Shane is wonderful! I was not clear when housekeeping was to come. Towels were changed every day, but my bed was only made 1 out of the 3 days I was there. Good location. ”

”We had two rooms. Room 512 had a nasty odor. It was very difficult to be in the room, let alone sleep. We kindly explained our situation to the front desk receptionist and she absolutely refused to change our room. We had not used the room or unpacked. She said the best she could do was have the maintenance man 'spray something'. She even told us that the hotel was not full but she could NOT offer us another room. We will never stay at Candlewood Suites again.”

That said, the hotel gets extremely busy on weekends, especially during events like the Jefferson’s Cup. Despite us having already paid for the room, they told our guest he needed to leave. As a result, both my husband and our guest were removed from the property. We were told we would receive a refund for one night; however, Expedia has since informed us they have been unable to reach the property to process it.
