I’ve stayed at Alpine Lake at several different properties, and this was the first one that provided keys to be able to use the indoor pool. It was the perfect space for our family of 3 and 2 dogs. ”

”We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. ”

”It was adequate for a night ; I wouldn't suggest staying any longer than that. The mattresses seemed to be new but were very hard, not good for side sleepers. It is in the process of renovation but has a lot of work still needed, particularly the bathroom. The pool was also out of order. Eat somewhere else. The bar was understaffed with only a single worker acting as both bartender and waiter. Management just stood there givng the poor guy a nasty look without help or direction. Food tasted...

”Our entire experience was just great - from booking to check out, everything went smoothly and all of our questions were answered quickly and clearly. The place was perfect for us as the destination for our family’s annual Christmas weekend. We even got snow, which added to the beauty of our visit. We are already considering a summer return.
