”Hotels.com reservation did not work. I had the reservation number - they would not accept it and did not contact hotels.com right away. I had to get a screenshot from reservation after 45 minutes of struggle with mobiles and wifis. And after this they deny that we had breakfast included. Because there is no evidence of that... They did not even say sorry. Kindness level was worse than any hotel I've ever been in Finland.”

”Very clean room with plenty of tea making facilities and lots of hot water, fluffy towels and a comfortable bed. Helpful full length mirror in bedroom. Some of the communal areas look a bit tired, but staff welcoming and room was great for my needs (staying overnight in area ready for family get together). Great location for Hythe and walk along seafront short drive away.”

”Recommend the 5 Bells and their team very highly. Both relaxed and very professional, from the minute I checked in to a great breakfast. I was en route to the channel tunnel. If you’re doing the same stay here, seriously.”

”Lovely comfortable clean room, very helpful staff. There was no air conditioning and we couldn’t open the windows and we stayed during a heatwave so the room was very hot. Next time probably wouldn’t pay for breakfast as there are lots of excellent cafes close by”

”Really enjoyed staying in the room that was on 2 floors. Great view of the sea. Room was OK. needs updating as does the rest of the hotel. The lift is very small. Could only get 2 small people in it. Not much room for anything else. Great Indian restaurant inside the hotel. Highly recommended that. Great location just needs updating. Great staff.”

”We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia...
