Lovely cottage
We had 3 nights here. The cottage was easily found and it was lovely and clean, just a little irk of no coffee in the cupboard, so we left some. Take everything you think you will need on the first day as the village shops keep very short hours. We took the car back to the main car park. The top sitting room is the star of the show with views over the harbour. The double bed was very comfy. Access to The Cleveland Way is literally at the top of the street for a wonderful walk along the clifftops. Staithes is very quiet with a couple of coffee shops, a couple of small galleries and 2 pubs. I'd certainly recommend this cottage if you want to get away from it all.

Excellent cottage
We can highly recommend this cottage. We particularly liked the living room on the top floor with a superb view of the harbour. Access is good - for Staithes! - and there are lovely walks from the door. Read the sleeping arrangements carefully if you are more than a party of three because the second bedroom is snug. Our host was very quick to respond to our queries.

Kurzurlaub in Staithes
Wir haben die Tage im wunderschönen Cottage von Laura sehr genossen. Die Unterkunft liegt in Wasser- und Strandnähe im urigen Fischerdorf Staithes und vom Schlaf- sowie Wohnzimmer hat man einen tollen Blick auf den Hafen und das Meer. Morgens wurden wir von den Möwen geweckt, abends haben wir es genossen, am Kamin zu sitzen. Ein toller Aufenthalt in einer sehr schönen und gepflegten Unterkunft. Danke.

Lovely cottage
On entering the cottage we found it to be very warm and welcoming and we loved the quirkiness of the layout. The living room is on the top floor which gives a lovely view of the harbour. The double bedroom which is on the first floor also has the view of the harbour. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend Anchor Cottage.

Great location
The property was in a great location with sea views from the bedroom and living room. Lots of stairs as bathroom is on the bottom floor and living room at the top so not good for anyone with limited mobility. Overall a good base to explore Staithes and be comfortable. Great that it is dog friendly, there were no traces of other dogs having being there. What could be better? A little tired in places, and in March I think logs for the fire should be included in the price of the property, they are there but you have to replace at your own cost. Towels could also be provided along with a few basics such as a small milk in the fridge.

Many thanks for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We understand and appreciate your valuable feedback. We would love to be able to provide milk and towels and we would definitely provide these if we lived locally. As we do not, we rely on our cleaner to take care of the cottage and it's not practical for her to buy milk, and carry towels up and down the hill, on top of the bedding. We have electric radiators throughout the cottage which provide sufficient heat. The log burner is more of a novelty feature for added enjoyment, so the purchase of the logs are at the guests' expense. Thanks again!

Delighted with our cottage
A beautiful and homely feeling to this special cottage, wonderful having breakfast watching the harbour, the boats, so peaceful. The views from the sitting room are stunning, the sunsets and sunrises :-). A truly delight, a place to relax, restore and unwind.

Fantastic Break!
Beautiful quirky cottage that is well equipped with everything you’d need. The location is perfect and the property benefits from stunning sea views which was one of the main reasons we chose this one. Everything ran smoothly in terms of checking in etc and the communication with the owner was prompt and thorough. We will certainly be back here as we love Staithes and loved this cottage.

Prachtig authentiek huis in hartje Staithes
Zeer complete, sfeervolle en authentieke woning. Fantastisch uitzicht, heerlijke bedden en uitstekende badkamer. Gezellige pub met ruime keuze om de hoek, tearoom met uitstekend ontbijt, koffie en traditionele cakes op loopafstand. Vele wandelroutes te starten vanuit het huis.

Perfect location and views
Quaint cottage with top floor cosy lounge to enjoy views. Location is perfect for enjoying Staithes. Note like lots of properties in Staithes your car will need to be parked at the top of the village after dropping off luggage and it’s a steep walk up and down however some pretty amazing views to enjoy on your journey to and from car.

Stunning Staithes
Anchor Cottage is super - we felt at home and relaxed from walking through the door. Clean, comfortable, well equipped and great position - the views were glorious.

Just perfect
We booked this at very short notice. Communications with Laura were quick, friendly and informative. The property was very clean, comfortable and having the living room on the top floor was marvellous for views of the harbour, Altho all the windows faced the harbour and we felt the house was in a really excellent piosition. Staithes is just gorgeous! We will come back to Anchor cottage and have no hesitancy in recommending it to all but those who cannot access stairs. We loved it.

One of the best holidays we’ve had. Staithes is so beautiful, and the cottage is cozy and welcoming, tucked away yet central to everything. All the hillsides and stairs certainly got me in shape as well!

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, perfect location with amazing sea views from all 3 floors
This property was perfect for our family staycation, every aspect was extremely comfortable and homely, the kids also loved it and didn't want to leave after our weeks stay, close to all amenities - beach, restaurants / pubs and shops. It was our first time visiting staithes also, the village and people, both workers, locals and holiday makers were all extremely friendly and welcoming, will 100% return to staithes and this property, highly recommend this property to all! Management was also extremely helpful from start to finish, cannot fault anything about our stay. Thank you for having us x

the position and views of the property are amazing,however your details don't say that the bathroom/only toilet is on the ground floor,the property needs a redecoration and and update of certain things,little things like the tatty ceiling lampshade in the double bedroom needs replacing,the string on the light and shower pull switch was dirty and needs replacing,the tie back on the kitchen curtain is really old and dirty,its just the little things like that that let the property down but despite that we had a fantastic week due to the position of the property,staithes itself and all the surrounding areas we visited in the best weather for the time of year

We have had them ear-marked for some time but, as I'm sure you appreciate, under the circumstances we've not been allowed to get to the property to resolve them in many months. Your visit was the very first day after lockdown and we wanted to honor your booking, so we pioritised the very important jobs in order for your stay to be possible. After months of lockdown we did not want to cancel anyone's holiday just for a few small details. We will of course work to get all concerns addressed and the cottage back to tip top condition asap. Thank you.

Great Sea Views from All Rooms
Anchor Cottage is a traditional fishermans cottage within the steep streets of Staithes. Because of it's location it provides great sea views and was comfortable and warm. It could be really stunning if more attention was paid to the overal finish and presentation. We had a really lovely few days break in Staithes. Thank you.

Anchor Adventure
Absolutely loved our stay at Anchor Cottage. Exceeded all expectations. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Views over the harbour were amazing. Must be one of the best positions in Staithes. Weather wasn't very good but we could watch the crashing waves from the comfort of a nice cosy lounge. We had a lovely Sunday roast dinner at the nearby Captain Cook Inn. Highly recommended.We stayed four nights but wished we had booked longer.

A lovely well equipped cottage with magnificent views from its second floor lounge.
We had good communication from the owner about how to find and enter the property. It was clean and comfortable. The cottage has an excellent location being only minutes from the beach and local pub. The Crab and Lobster pub provided great food at reasonable prices and we enjoyed mixing with locals and visitors at the weekly quiz. One small criticism about the property was that some of the bulbs had gone and not been replaced.

Lovely Cottage...
We had a very enjoyable stay at Anchor Cottage. The views of the harbour are wonderful. During our stay it was sunny and windy leading to spectacular waves beyond the harbour. If there are no cars at the top of church street you can drive to the top and turn the car to unload quickly outside the cottage.

Lovely, clean, well-maintained property with fabulous views
We enjoyed our week-long stay in the Anchor Cottage at Staithes. The cottage is well-equipped, it has comfortable beds and a lovely cosy living room. There are plenty of books and DVDs for evening entertainment. The views are amazing from every floor of the cottage. Highly recommended!

Such a relaxing stay.

Great cottage and views
Great cottage, our family stayed their 1 week and loved being that close to the sea front. As a added bonus you get lots of exercise walking up the hill. We used the cowgate car park which was free and about the same distance as the pay car park.
