What to see in San Felice

San Felice - Historic Center.



The town of San Felice, which is the ancient San Felice Scovolo, preserves in the historic center the remains of the ancient Castle, the Rotingo Palace, built in the 17th century, now the Town Hall.



A walk through the center reveals the former Monte di Pietà di San Felice, an elegant Venetian-style building with a five-arched portico with square ashlar stone pillars.



Inside it resided the Town Government; now that the town's activity has turned decisively toward Tourism, it is home to the Information Office and an Exhibition Hall that hosts numerous exhibitions by contemporary artists.



San Felice - Sanctuary of Carmine



The baroque Parish Church, dedicated to the Martyrs SS. Felice, Adauto and Flavia, is located right in the center of the village and contains valuable works of art including the Romanino Altarpiece, so it is well worth a visit. Just outside the historic center of San Felice del Benaco stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Carmine, an ancient Romanesque church built in 1460 and governed by Carmelite friars.



San Felice - Portese



This is why it is home to a very active Nautical Club that promotes various events including the "Exposition Trophy," "Him and Her," and the great summer initiative "Trans Benaco cruise race."

Also worth seeing is the Castle erected in the early Middle Ages to defend against barbarian raids, of which only a butt of a circular tower remains.



On the nearby promontory of San Fermo, opposite Garda Island, is the 15th-century church of the same name, which offers a very impressive and panoramic view of Lake Garda from above.

San Felice del Benaco - Cisano

The small hamlet of Cisano is located on a hill from which one can admire the enchanting landscape of the Gulf of Salò.

Its name seems to derive from "Caesius" or the Low Latin "Caesa" (Cut Wood).

Strolling through the streets of the recently renovated historic center, one is immersed in a peaceful atmosphere where time seems to have stopped at the time when cows used to return from grazing and stop at the fountain in the small square to drink.
