”Elk Trace Bed and Breakfast was an incredible experience. The "big" house was incredible. Like a combination of a cabin / manor house. Beautiful on the outside and inside, nestled on 102 acres of pristine Colorado (San Juan Forrest) wilderness yet still fairly close to civilization in Pagosa Springs. The room was perfectly sized with a king bed. The place is dog friendly. The owner, Evelyn, even volunteered to watch one of our yappy dogs while we went on a carriage ride around the property...
”We stayed two nights in Red Baron cabin. The Cabin was otherwise ok, but worn out a little bit. The place was nice with mountains all around. Breakfast was served from 8 to 8.30. The Innkeeper prepared the breakfast herself. It was homemade and different from regular hotels. The bad thing about it was that you couldn´t decide yourself what to have for breakfast. As a whole the place was quite ok but next time I visit Durango I propably go somewhere else”

”Place was great for the price! They had a huge TV, which was fun because we had just been tent camping. Nice amenities, including coffee in the room. Bed was comfortable, and enormous if you like that. It seemed large even for a king. Maybe it was because of that little tent the night before!”
”The property was recently renovated. It is verybcomfortablen and clean while maintaining a lot of its rustic charm. Floors are squeaky, but freshly finished and clean. The bathroom had modern finishes.
The syaff was wonderful, friendly and helpful.
Its nice that they have a restruant on site and the food was very good except the menu was a bit limited and service was a bit slow.
Overall a wonderful experience in Chama and couldnt be more convenient to the railroad. Highly recommend this...
”Very nice and clean property, everything was thought of, road noise did not bother us, but there was several options for people with issues with noise. Loved the features and amenities. Really enjoyed sitting on the patio with the fire pit and having the electric fireplace inside for the cool evening, ”
