We had an amazing stay at Concepción Boutique Hotel. The property is beautiful, peaceful, spotlessly clean, and perfectly located in the heart of San Miguel. The pool and hot tub were a wonderful way to relax in the sun, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Is it the most affordable place to stay? No. But for us the experience and amenities were worth it, especially as we were celebrating an anniversary.
We originally booked a standard room (small window with limited natural light), but the staff kindly upgraded us to a room with a larger window and a fridge. It was beautiful, very clean, and surprisingly quiet despite the busy road outside—though you will hear church bells, so bring earplugs if you need.
The highlight of the property is the common areas. The pool and hot tub are tucked against a stone wall with greenery, making it feel private and relaxing. You do need to give a couple of hours’ notice if you’d like the hot tub turned on, but it was always warm and ready when we asked.
Breakfast is included by the pool each morning (fruit, granola, and omelettes or chilaquiles). Simple but a nice start to the day.
The location is fantastic—everything we wanted was within about a 15-minute walk. We especially loved Inside Cafe (great rooftop views and sandwiches), only a 3-minute walk away, and there’s also an OXXO nearby.
Only downside was that the shower water took 5–10 minutes to warm up. Overall a wonderful stay & we’d happily return!
