Our room was really nice, clean and comfortable. The food was nice.
We came with our dog but even though the hotel states that it is dog friendly, it is really we let you bring your dog. There was an area to eat when you have a dog (which was fully booked on the Friday) so we sat in the bar area which had a good atmosphere. We asked to be sat there on the second night as the dog friendly area was out of the way and there was no atmosphere. It is important to us when we come away with our dog that we feel included. We don't have a problem sitting in bar areas, we do quite enjoy it.
The bar area could have been bigger there wasn't much room for guests to chill.
The carpet was a disgrace, so dirty with spilt drinks. The restaurant area had wooden floors and this would have been much better in the bar area as well.
The staff were friendly and polite but the service throughout was a bit discombobulated. And it was as if, if you were in the bar area you were forgotten.
On the Friday night it was bar service only but the restaurant was covered, not a problem with that. On the Saturday night it was a bit of both. We were brought the dessert menu but staff never came back.
The drinks prices in the drinks menu didn't reflect what you were charged at the bar which was more. We were also over charged for the room. Which has now been refunded.
The town itself is lovely. The hotel is fine but as it is it isn't a 5* as advertised.
