Fantastic house for families!

Out family of four stayed here with another family for a vacation week. It fit all eight of us, kids ranging from 2-12, super comfortably, with a fun playroom for the kids and a great pool. The kitchen is awesome and the house is clean and beautiful. Such a great stay!

Perfect!

This house was the perfect distance from all the local beaches without being right in it. The pool at the house was awesome. The house itself was so amazing. I have never stayed somewhere where they literally thought of everything to make it feel like you were at your own home. The owners also did an amazing job at providing fantastic restaurant and activity recommendations.

Everything was perfect!

Each room was very nicely decorated with a very homey, comfortable, clean feel to it. The entire house was “spic n span” - super clean!!! Tip: When using the dryer you have to put the heat all the way up or it won’t dry clothes/towels. The AC was kicken if u like it cold inside, or we kicked it down a few notches as well to warm it up when it cooled off during the rain. It was a PERFECT stay!!! Oh, one more thing - the house is close to an airport - there were very low flying planes taking off and landing - which was quite loud for like 30 seconds each, which came and went quickly, so it wasn’t bad at all. There weren’t a ton of planes, if I had to guess, over 3 days, there was like 6-8 planes. So it was nothing to be concerned about. It’s a lovely place!!! We made memories that will last a lifetime! Much love and peace to you all! <3

Great house

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house is a great size for our group of 8. The kids loved the pool. There is some airport noise but it did not bother us at all. All the beaches, restaurants, etc were a short driving distance.

Perfect House for a Family Birthday

Can’t say enough good things about this house. Mother-in-law lives about 5 minutes up the road but needed more space for a small family get together for her 75th birthday. The house is equipped with everything you need. We lived in the pool from morning til night. The proximity to the airport didn’t bother us at all. It was actually fun watching the planes take off. The owner, Christy, was very nice to deal with. We would definitely return to this beautiful home again. Highly recommend!

Great place

Very nice place to stay and the neighborhood was also very interesting. House had plenty of extras to make it very useful. Extremely short drive to the SRQ airport which was nice! Airport noise was not really noticeable. Water nearby is not a beach (maybe good for fishing) but beaches are across the bridge.

Spring break

My family of 5, plus one of my daughters friends, and our friends who are a family of 4 stayed here together for spring break. There was plenty of room for everyone. 2 adult children shared the bedroom with the barn door, 4 children ages ranging from 3-11 shared the bunk room, and the adult couples took the master and second bedroom. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed for the week. Great pool and backyard area with treehouse and swing set that the kids loved. We appreciated the new lanai over the pool as it kept the pool area cleaner. We never encountered any bugs/insects as a previous reviewer said. Nice neighborhood. The neighborhood itself is directly across from Sarasota international airport and obviously air traffic is loud, but not deafening. Most air traffic is during the morning and evening but nothing at night while sleeping. This would not stop us from renting here again. Sarasota itself is busy and congested, so getting downtown or to Siesta key beach would take 30+ mins at times, when in reality it’s not that many miles away. We had fun being in the pool from sun up to sun down, hitting the beaches, dining downtown, playing mini golf, and catching a polo game at Sarasota Polo. Christy is accommodating and easy to communicate with. If I had to make a suggestion- it would be to add a small tv in the bedroom with the barn door and some hooks in the laundry area and pool area to hang wet clothes. This was our first time renting a VRBO and I’m glad we chose Christy’s property- would rent again if in Sarasota in the future!

Beautiful House close to everything

This was our first time in Sarasota for Spring Break and we loved it. The house was beautiful, very clean and well maintained. It was in a quiet neighborhood close to the Sarasota airport. Close car rides to AMI, Siesta Key Lido Key..... The host was very responsive and helpful with our advanced scheduling. She gave us a lot of information about the location, restaurants, sights and where to go. I can highly recommend the house. We were two families with total 3 teenagers and 2 kids. The outdoor pool was an added plus.

Whitfield Estates

This is a lovely house but the neighborhood is far from the beaches. It was my first time in Sarasota, so I didn't realize how far the house was to the beach. My biggest complaint was the noise from the Sarasota airport, literally across Rt. 41. It was constant. Christy was easy to deal with. House was well stocked, although only had 2 beach chairs. I had to buy one when friends came down. The weather was cool so didn't use the pool/lanai much but it was lovely.

My family and I stayed here for 5 day’s and absolutely loved it!Very nice and quiet neighborhood.It felt like home to us.The plains from airport are noticeable when outside but barely hear them inside.They are done flying by 10 pm.My family and I would stay there again.

Perfect Christmas

We spent Christmas here this year and it was wonderful. House was exactly as the listing. Stocked with everything you need. It was like being at home. Christy was wonderful with suggestions and communication. We will definitely return!

Mosquitos, Ants, and Airplanes

I am normally not the person to take the time to write a negative review and have no desire to tarnish the owners’ reputation or rating. My wife and I had very high hopes for our stay at this property, but, unfortunately, because of the following, we were not able to stay and were forced to find other accommodations. Upon arrival at the house, after exiting the car in the driveway, myself, my wife, and our 2-year-old daughter started being bitten by the infestation of mosquitoes that surrounded the property. They were everywhere - in the front of the house, in the backyard, inside the house after I had the front door open for a minute or two, and even inside my car after we departed the property. To be clear, this was not just a few mosquitos, but a considerable number of them that made it both uncomfortable and unsafe. Furthermore, hundreds of ants were crawling around the paved deck by the pool. It would be pretty uncomfortable to spend any time there. Of note, the house is immediately adjacent to an international airport. In the few minutes we were there, numerous aircraft flew directly over the house. It was very, VERY loud. We live in a large city and are not particularly sensitive to noise, so trust me it is extremely loud. We were also unaware of the large black lanai that had been built over the pool. All of the photos in the listing of the yard show a gorgeous open yard with a pool open to the sky - and this is not in any way accurate. Part of the reason we booked this specific property was because there was supposedly no covering on the pool area, as shown in the photos that we saw when we booked. There seems to be a video showing the lanai attached to the listing now (I do not know when it was added) but the video is NOT visible if you are viewing the listing on the VRBO app, and the inaccurate photos (of which there are many) still exist on all platforms. The significant insect issue was enough alone to warrant us leaving but that was not the only problem. The owner was initially very responsive and I do appreciate that. However, she basically called me a liar stating that she has never heard of any problem regarding ants or mosquitoes. As I said, I’m not one to write these types of reviews, but feel it is important to share our negative experience at this property.

Feels more like a home than a rental property

Very happy with our stay. The house is equipped and decorated like a real home not a rental house. We love to cook and found the kitchen to have everything that we needed. Lots of spaces to hangout and relax. The pool was clean and WARM for a November visit. It is a great location -quick drive to downtown Sarasota, Lido beach and St Armands circle. The home is in a nice neighborhood with plenty of areas to walk or run. It is near the airport so there is some air traffic but we didn't find it to be a problem. Would stay here again!!

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was pristine and beautiful. There is nothing we could think of that wasn’t available including beach toys/umbrella/chairs as well as a full kitchen and even extra mattresses. Everything was of great quality and taste. The outdoor space was beautiful. The only problem was the mosquitoes! Siesta Key beach was 25 min drive but most stores were within a 10 min drive from the house. Christy was very responsive and helpful. Look forward to staying there again in the future.

Beautiful house! Great stay!

We had plenty of room for everyone, short drive to downtown, and beaches. Christy was quick to respond if we needed her. This house is very close to airport so you do hear the planes fly over but it wasn’t an issue during the night. The neighborhood is beautiful. We definitely recommend this house!
