”We left and decided to drive back to Edinburgh. The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, such a warm inviting man. The Inn is outdated and the twin bed size and mattress was disappointing. The lighting is blue, which made the room feel cold. The breakfast is at the motor stop. Probably a good place for those who don't have a choice. But we were able to make it back to our original hotel in a timely manner, so we did.”

I worried about the stairs as I have difficulty climbing some stairs and these were not taxing on my knees, Appreciate the stay at The Old Rectory.”

”Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel ”

”This is a classic quaint, village inn, excellent food, and very comfortable folksy rooms with loft beds. The proprietor and all the staff are super helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to hike directly to the best spots of Hadrians Wall.”
