The house is very beautiful; my whole family loved it. This is the second time we've been there. The only downside was that the hot water wasn't working properly, and because of that, we couldn't use the jacuzzi. The house also needs more cleaning.

House was beautiful, the only thing there were lots of light bulbs out, and a few things that were broke . But definitely the nicest house we rented up there.

Could Have Been Great

The home was beautiful but not kept up, great location, & had great space. The DAY we were due to check in the management co. called us while on our way & said they had some issues & did not have a crew to clean the home for our arrival. The options were- 1.Cancel. 2.Move to another location w/ less bedrooms, less bathrooms, 4 less beds, less amenities such as no game room for kids & more outdated FOR THE SAME PRICE. 3.Clean the house ourselves and we would not have to pay the cleaning fee. Since we were already on our way we could not cancel, the alternative home wouldn't be suitable for our needs, which left us with clean the home ourselves. It was so disappointing & frustrating, especially with no foresight. The location was just as the last people had left it. They had not even provided any supplies such as shampoo, tp, dish soap, sponges, garbage bags etc. There was a mop in the snow w/ a few strings & was black & the dryer took about 3 hours to dry a load taking until midnight for clean sheets. We ended up making a store run to buy cleaning & home supplies for our stay. We contacted VRBO & let them know the situation so they were aware as well as to protect ourselves from being responsible for anything from the previous guests. VRBO offered $100 goodwill reimbursement to cover the supplies as the property management would do nothing more. After 2 calls in 2 weeks, we have still have received nothing from VRBO. Could have been great but managed and taken care of poorly:(

Beautiful location, excellent management team.

We are so grateful to have enjoyed our stay here. Stunning location, beautiful house. Not stocked the greatest, a lot of the kitchen supplies were broken. The only mixing bowl had a hole in it, and no simple essentials like a wine/bottle opener (so we donated one to the property). The kitchen was very dirty upon check in, and I sent photos to management. Still awaiting a resolution regarding this. Otherwise, beautiful home with plenty of space!

Great Place, Needs Some Love

I can imagine this house was amazing in its heyday, but it needs quite a bit love before she's back to her original glory. Similar to what other folks have written, there are quite a few things missing or broken that should be a relatively quick fix. If you're willing to work around non-working appliances, wobbly handrails and general lack of upkeep, its a great fit!

Had a wonderful time, but the house itself left a bit to be desired

Seems like the house and property have gone a bit neglected. House was cool/unique in that it definitely offered the feel of a “sportsman’s lodge”, which we really liked. But a lot in the house either didn’t work, was broken, or needed updating. Big heavy oak wood chairs in the dining room were very rustic, but several had broken arms/pieces. We actually had to put one outside for our entire stay for fear of someone impaling themself on it. Dish washer didn’t work. More lights were out/needed to be replaced than worked. BBQ worked sporadically. Half of the stove top burners either didn’t work or were missing knobs. Luckily the setting and surroundings were just what we were looking forward (very rustic, quiet, and calming), and we had a great family vacation. But in summary, the house itself should have been in better condition given the cost.

Shaver Lake Amazing Cabin

The cabin was amazing! Kept the kids at bay by sending them upstairs with the rooms n pool table while the adults enjoyed the beautiful weather outside!

Not Clean, insufficient property manager support

The facility and location are nice but with promises of extraneous cleaning during the COVID-19 pandemic, this location was far from qualified. Kitchen smelled bad, dishes were dirty, the cutting board was not wiped down (still had dried blood), floors were not clean, and trash cans were full. One room even had trash pushed into a corner on the floor, ceiling fan blades were about to fall off (missing screws). Propane tanks were empty, the sliding door screen was ripped, WiFi did not work. It took over a day to get a hold of the property manager before getting the trash picked up and WiFi working. Luckily the place had been empty for a few nights (supporting COVID-19 virus half life), I had brought a few cans of lysol, plates and my own linens. If you want to rent this place I would recommend doing the same.

List of issues that need to be addressed: kitchen stove & railing to upstairs needs maintenance. New can opener. Needs broom & dust pan. additional paper goods for kitchen & bathroom.

Beautiful but deteriorating

The property is beautiful and plenty of space for our family. The house was not very clean, beds aside from master bed were not comfortable and bedding was thin and felt cheap. I had to wash sheets on three of the beds because there was hair in them when we arrived. Dryer doesn’t work very well (took three high heat cycles of 60 to dry a load), things were broken or breaking throughout entire house (banister rail was coming unattached from wall, bunk beds were cracked so they freaked and made us nervous they would fall apart, kitchen sink was cracked, etc....). There were also no convenient additions to the kitchen, for example, no salt and pepper, any sort of cooking oil, and we ran out of kitchen trash bags. Final complaint is we visited in January so their is snow and it’s cold, they have a great big beautiful fireplace and we arrived to find out that they don’t provide any firewood - that was a little crazy too for the price of this home they should provide at the least a small amount to get you through the first evening without having to go out and purchase. This property has so much potential but for the price we would not rent again unfortunately.

Amazing back porch in quiet neighborhood

We stayed for a weekend and the house was super clean and orderly. It is in a great neighborhood with walkable access to near by Granite Ridge hike. Would stay again for sure.

Awesome Place

Cabin was absolutely gorgeous. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our family weekend. Every aspect of the cabin was awesome. The decorations, the location, the useable outdoor space, the games-it was perfect. The cabin was well stocked with necessities and felt like home. I Would definitely recommend this to any family looking for a large, beautiful place to stay for a getaway.

Great home but needs some tlc

Beautiful cabin but needs some maintenance. Love location and set up. Large open great room which was great for gatherings. Only a small, half roll of toilet paper left in each bathroom. Needed to run to market next morning to buy more. For cost of rental we expected more amenities. Kitchen utensils and drawers were also a mess and missing items. Had to run to Ken’s to buy a large pot for dinner. Great home but upkeep needs help

We will be back!

Beautiful property that easily housed our party of 9. The area is quiet and, serene and relaxing. I would have rated this property a solid 5 if we had wanted to stay in-doors the entire time but we wanted to use the grill in the backyard and found that area to be less maintained than the residence was. We needed to clean up that area before we could use it. Overall, though, a very nice place to stay!
