”We arrived late as we had a bad experience at another hotel. We wete greeted with a warm smile and friendly service from the receptionist. The bar staff were so lovely and even though we were just after yhe closing hour they made sure we were fed after our exhausting trip. ”We were on a cycle trip Lands End to John O'Groats, and the hotel was fairly close to the route. We were able to get a meal at night and the breakfast was fine too. Hotel were able to offer safe and secure storage for the bike. The hotel is quite a historic building and could perhaps do with some refurbishment, but it had a nice touch of charm about it and the staff were very friendly. ”

”The property was ideal for our needs and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the booking experience through Expedia was abysmal. We were told the property was unavailable, which was untrue. We were offered an alternative of a 3-bed property which supposedly had 6 double beds. Photos on the Expedia website show this is also untrue.”

”This is one of the best places we have stayed on our travels. It is an old thatched cottage style pub resplendent with some lovely original features.
