”I felt comfortable as a solo traveller. But then it was my home town for nearly 40 years. However staff fantastic. I didn't check in until quite late in the day, and was told my room would be in the 1st not grounds floor which I had asked for. But the reason was the lock on my ground floor was playing up and needed a repair. But I could lock from inside and although it was a struggle I managed it so it was my choice to take the ground floor. Peaceful night. Nice shower. Found duvet in...

”Nice location decent room but Tv is a lil dated and control was slow. The portion size food wise was a bit of a let down for me but it was decent. It may be one of the better/best hotels in the area.”

”First time I've stayed at Holiday Inn, what can I say it was great. I didn't want to leave, so much to do in Southend, and the hotel was above standard. From the minute I walked in, until I left my stay was comfortable, peaceful and just what I needed. I will return. Close to a small retail outlet, but it is quiet you wouldn't know.. and handy for the airport.”

”Very convenient and clean (although slight damp smell throughout) and staff were lovely! This is a pretty basic hotel though - room large with comfy bed but warm - and if you don't have a room in the hotel itself you are nowhere near the sea - wasn't a problem for us. It's a very busy locals pub though which we were good with but not a tranquil seaside stay. And parking is tricky as need to top up at the off-site carpark at 8am each day. Good breakfast tho!”

”The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!”

”Our stay at the ship inn was lovely. The room was spacious and modern, the bed was really comfortable, the bathroom and walk in shower were delightful. We didn’t have the breakfast as we had other plans with friends. This is a help yourself continental style breakfast, which looked quite basic but perfectly adequate. ”Mannermainen aamiainen oli hyvä. Se sisälsi mm. kahvin, leivän, jogurtin, hedelmiä, mysliä, juustoa, leikkelettä ja keitettyjä kananmunia.Vastaanoton nainen oli hyvin ystävällinen. Poislähteminen oli vaivatonta. Sijainti oli erinomainen. Huone oli pieni, mutta mukava, vaikka olikin hieman nukkavieru. Hiustenkuivaajan olisi voinut lainata vastaanotosta. Voisin yöpyä toistamiseen. Continental breakfast was good. It included e.g. coffee, bread, yogurt, fruits, muesli, cheese and boiled eggs....

”The hotel needs a lot of care and attention , cleaning which is a most. other parts need cleaning.I use the GYM when I was there, Equipment's need updated , .Lot of other places are rusted, meaning to old , good clean down.Needs a better fan for bathroom /shower, especially when having to do ANOTHER 2 IN THE toilet. NEEDS MORE STRONGER SUCTIONS. WINDOWS NEED CLEANING PLENTY COBWEBS IN EVERY AREAS. Rubbish even outside the areas need to be emptied daily, Areas where you are aloud to smoke...
