Came here for a weekend away!! Staff were so lovely and helpful and had the bed and breakfast option, food was lovely ,especially eggs benedict. The town is a small walk away and has great shops and a beautiful walk around the castle, We had such a lovely time!

Comfortable family hotel on the edge of the dales. We were given rooms in the annex where the lift was out of order the whole stay and the roof was leaking on the stairwell will white mould on the carpet. The room was comfortable enough and the breakfast was very good.

A lovely night!
A lovely hotel in a fab setting. The room was amazing (Wharfe) and the breakfast was tasty with a wide range of cereals, cooked and pastries.

Disappointing stay
Positives: Location is good. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good. Negatives: The cleanliness of the room and common areas was not up to standards. See attached picture of condensation on paint work. We found hair not belonging to us in shower. In addition, the room has paper thin walls and you can hear everything next door. The hotel has a potentially beautiful view of the canal from the landing window however you can’t see a thing as the windows are so dirty and covered in insects. All in all, highly disappointing stay. It appears to be more style over substance and even that could be improved with a paint job.

Easy check in , safe & easy & free self park, nice building lots of character & fantastic canal side location, easy walk to town & local attractions, plenty of bars/restaurants nearby, Morrisons supermarket very close & across the road from railway station… comfortable bed good nights sleep, minimal noise, good breakfast included… only slight negatives were …. Our room was quite hot despite being early autumn but the windows did open & wifi in our room was unusable due to slow lagging speeds & constantly dropping out but maybe better in other rooms… overall a great choice for staying in the lovely town of Skipton

Check in easy, staff polite and friendly, young lady in restaurant thursday 21st sept eve was an asset so helpful and polite ( sorry i didnt get your name). Room comfy and clean, loved looking out at the barges.

Excellent hotel and the staff were all lovely and pleasant. convenient for public transport and easy to access other towns by car. Leeds and Liverpool canal running along the back of the hotel with a large park on the other side. It was very pleasant to take short walk along the canal to the town with plenty of dog walkers on the way

A most enjoyable stay. We would have preferred a more varied dinner menu. We were a bit irritated about having to pay for everything as we ordered it rather than charging items to our room and settling up when we checked out which is the norm for other hotels. We thought the whole breakfast event was first class. All of the staff were outstanding.

For 140 pounds a night the accommodation and breakfast was a total disgusting ripoff and i suggest you remove it from your site.

Lovely weekend break.
Very good experience at the hotel. Check in was as stated although I’m believe we could have had our room earlier rather than sit in the bar. Not complaining as that’s the hotel rules which some others didn’t feel they applied to them.

Overall we were impressed with Herriot's and will definitely return. There is convenient parking on site which is a bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was beautiful. The only problem we had was the shower was freezing cold, but we go round this with the bath and there is a shower attachment linked to the tap which I used to wash my hair over the bath, it is also possible to use this to shower but it needs to be hand held. Breakfast was different on each day, there where a couple of niggles each day such as no spoons or bowls with the yogurt and fruit, no milk by the coffee machine but nothing that wasn't soon sorted by staff. The quality of the cooked items did vary a little from day to day and on our final day we did also notice that staff had to apologize for delays in the kitchen so I did wonder if it was new kitchen staff still learning the ropes, that said overall the quality and selection of food was good. As I say we will definitely return.

The hotel was clean and well furnished . Not so easy for people with mobility issues as steps to rhubarb restaurant and we also had stairs to our room - no lift on our side of the hotel . Also a step into the room . Fine for us but not for all guests . Room very very warm , although had 2 fans just circulated the warm air . We were at the front of the hotel so the traffic disturbed you too . Poor service for breakfast on the Sunday morning - think they were short staffed .!!

Great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Easily walkable into town via the canal path. Only issue was lack of power sockets but they lent me an extension lead.

Location was good but very disappointed to find bar closed at 10.45 and hotel closed at 11o'clock had to use side entrance with code, we were only informed of this on arrival. On two evenings there were private functions with drinks and loud music which went on until after midnight.

Although a short stay, we really enjoyed staying in the canal spa room, and we knew what to expect from Herriots overall, as we have stayed on other occasions and will be doing so again, a nice friendly hotel.
